Review by Brinker085 in course Blissfest DGC

4.00 star(s) Blissfest 2015 - Nice assortment of holes throughout the course providing the opportunity to play a wide variety of different shots; From wide open meadow holes with strategic tree placements to wooded tunnels that force a specific line. - Excellent tee signs which provide decent navigation...

    The first one!!

Congratulations on your first ace! I'm still in the hunt for one. Gotta' love the Wizards man... Since I got my first one, I've always kept one in my bag.

    Anagram Challenge

I should be alright, I've thrown some two disc rounds there using just a mid and putter, specifically a Shark and a Wizard, and I think I shot right around my usual average.

    Anagram Challenge

Alright, good ol' Roc it is! I'll start shopping for a Cro today and get out there to throw the round soon. I'm interested to see how this goes!

    Anagram Challenge

I haven't had my hands on a Cro before, so without knowing the feel of the disc I'd have to say Roc for now. Would it be acceptable to use a Classic Roc? I'd putt with that no problem...

    Anagram Challenge

I'm down to give the "Anagram Challenge" a try. I play Firefighters Park fairly often and I usually shoot around +6. Orcs and Rocs are in my bag already, I'll pick up a Cro and report back with my score!

what kind of sandpaper for getting out annoying nicks?

A friend of mine, the guy who introduced me to disc golf, carries a foot shaver in his bag to clean up the edges of his discs. The first time I saw him use it I learned two things. 1. That something called a foot shaver exists, and 2. They make for a decent disc repair tool.

    Why Roc vs Buzzz?

I carry a DX Roc and a Z Buzzz SS in my bag. I tend to reach for the Buzzz to make the majority of mid range/approach shots, and the Roc for mid range or fairway drive situations. I'm a fan of both and the universe hasn't exploded yet! :D

[Innova] Whats the best Innova midrange for a beginner?

If you're looking to stay with an Innova disc, I'll back up the others that are recommending the Shark, they're readily available in DX plastic, cheap, and I think they're a fine place to start. Rocs are excellent, but as others have stated they need some power. I had to grow into mine. If...

Review by Brinker085 in course Ira Park DGC

0.50 star(s) It's New, and Still Needs Some Work Done There are only a couple good things I can say about this course, and unfortunately, they're somewhat minor details. -The course has decent sings marking both tee positions and basket locations. -The hand crafted baskets are functional, and good quality...

    [Innova] ORC

I'm a fan of the Orc, and I currently carry two of them in my bag. I've got a 169g champ Orc that is super flat. I'd say its my best disc for distance, and with a nice clean throw it's very straight with a nice fade to the right (I'm a lefty) at the end of its flight. The other one is a 174g DX...

What do you name your discs?

lol! Too bad it isn't a "Green River", that would have matched up with John Fogerty as well!

How the acorn grows to be a mighty oak? Completed.

Nicely written slowRoll. I'm a pretty new player myself, I started just over a year or so ago. I'd like to learn how to throw hyzer and anhyzer shots correctly. I tend to just focus on releasing the disc flat and straight. I rely on using different discs, or taking different lines to avoid...

    [Gateway] Wizard/magic gateway craze

I don't know what it is, but I do enjoy the Wizard. It just feels right I guess. I picked one up after a friend had suggested I try one, and I've had one in my bag ever since. I do use a couple other putters, but the Wizard is my go to disc for most close up shots. I've even used one of mine to...

    Michigan New Course Updates

That's some great news! I'll actually be out that way this weekend, along with a few of my discin' friends. If it does in fact open, we will have to stop by and throw a round or two!

[Innova] Difference between these two Aviar P&A discs?

I'm a fan of the r-pro Aviars. I have had a 168g in my bag for quite awhile now. I've found the flexibility of the plastic on the r-pro to be great when an approach or putt misses the mark as the disc tends to sit and stay rather than rolling or bouncing farther away from the basket. I've even...

    you wont believe this!

I haven't witnessed any wildlife getting taken out with plastic yet, but I nearly tagged a squirrel with a drive over the weekend. Fortunately it missed by a couple feet, and it was towards the end of throw, so the disc had lost a lot of speed.

    Clean your Disc.

I generally clean up my discs after a handful of rounds, more often in the spring when the courses are muddier. I just fill up the sink with some nice hot water and mix in a little dish soap. An old wash cloth works for most cleaning. I use an old scrubbing pad on disc edges where there are...
