Disc Golf Cart Pictures and ideas

20150503_115242.jpg

Picked up a similar 3 wheeled cart last week (10 bucks at Goodwill, almost perfect), and I have my bag strapped in at the bottom, and an 18 pack cooler bungied on top. For now, it's good, but I'm going to see about adding a bracket at the bottom for a storage box and mounting the bag up a little higher. Might add a bracket for the upper cooler so it's not being cinched down by bungies.

I'm also thinking about a cheaper bag (I have a Grip A, thinking about a Magellan) that I can perma-mount with two plates and brackets. I'd have to add some support for the inferior bag, but once it's mounted, the wear should be minimal.

Added an Upper Park Designs Rebel to my Bagboy Quad setup. It is a really nice bag for this cart. I have an AO soft cooler that I can hang behind the bag on the other side of the vertical tubes, but when full makes the cart feel feel like it could tip back easier than I would like. I'm thinking about adding a couple pounds to the very front of the cart when using the cooler. Will be keeping an eye out for an inconspicuous easy to attach weight.

Hey Tarpon6,
You can widen the front wheels with the allen wrench that was supplied with the cart. I would look into wheel weights, the stick on kind, because then you can add as many ounces as you would like and stick them on the bottom of the front end.

I think having to switch everything back and fourth between the two bags would be kind of a PIA.
I like the idea of just hanging my regular bag on and going.
I already switch back and forth between my big and little grip bags, and it's a hassle.

I have started refining the bag mounts on the wifes cart.
When I first built it, I got tired of messing with the design, so I just whipped up some quickie thin steel brackets.
It turned out so well, that I/we have been using it that way ever since.
So now I am just going to redo the same style of brackets, but just put in a little more effort, and make them smaller across the top where the straps go on.

If it's just discs, it wouldn't bother me too much....at least I don't think it would...

Ok so here is the new and improved version, it has smaller and better brackets to hang the bag on.

Ok poking around at the blue 3 wheel, it definitely needs to be shortened up so it sits up more straight.
I will use it more like a 2 wheel pull cart, but have the ability to lift it up on to just the front tire if needed.

I cut off almost 2 inches first, but that didn't change much.
So i cut off the whole bottom section, and that stood it up like I wanted.
Next comes the bag mount.
I am finished with the wifes cart, so now I am back to work on mine.
I fixed the crappy little brake on it
(We will see how long it lasts), so now I can start looking at building a bag mount.

My tournament setup. Added two adjustable bicycle drink holders on the sides to hold anything from a 20 oz soda to a 32 oz Nalgene bottle. Put it on a Bag Boy cart I traded a bunch of tournament Aviars for. Bought both the Bag Boy cart seat and umbrella holder from an online discount golf retailer. Straps on the back of the board hold an umbrella when not in use. Cart came with a plastic scorecard holder with a pencil drawer and sharpener.

I stained and sealed a 4' cedar 1x12 to mount the Disc Wallaby. The two notches on the sides at the bottom hold either my Double Nutsac 2.0 to carry extra discs, or a softside cooler. Weighs less than 20 lbs. loaded

So after milling around hardware stores looking for options to mount bags/etc, I went home and realized I could use the existing golf bag holder to mount my straps. No mods needed, and it runs like a dream. I can fold it up with bag and cooler attached, and slide it into the trunk. I may find an alternate way to mount the cooler on the bottom, or I may just get some black bungees so they aren't so apparent. I did remove the golf bag support that was originally on the bottom of the cart.

I might add the Sun Mountain seat, and possibly the backpack type bag that attaches to the back and can stay on when folded up. Overall, I'm very happy with this...the drink holder works great between shots, and the small pocket at the top of the handle works great for my phone, for keeping score. Not a bad deal for ten bucks.

Cart is looking pretty much the same, added my little chair cooler to the front, it fits in there pretty perfect, I just don't trust the cart with my big butt sitting there, so I still use my tripod chair. I have decided that I am going to cut a hole in some dx plastic and attach it to the rear wheels.

I may have a problem

As the design has grown I now have a backplane that fits any backpack, cart has a stool holder and drink holder. I now route the edges then sand, stain and coat the backplanes with polyurethane.
