[Question] Flourescent Plastic

What UV light do you guys recommend?

I don't have a recommendation yet, but my local DG shop is ordering some loon brand lights which are marketed for curing glues for fly tying. I'm interested to see one in action.

Got this at lowes last week because my other uv light died after many years of use. Worked great for my 1st glow round of the fall season.

EDIT: LOL just noticed it says no longer available online. Maybe i got the last one lowes had.
EDIT EDIT: this link says it's available https://www.lowes.com/pd/CRAFTSMAN-UV-LED-Miniature-Flashlight-Battery-Included/1001033788

I swear by the UltraFire UV LED flashlight, compact and built pretty heavy duty. Has held up for years of weekly glow league usage and is still going. Super bright and comes with charger and rechargeable batteries. Found this one on ebay with batteries and chargers

MVP has gotten in on the action as well and offers a nice UV flashlight. I think the UltraFire is the best myself but this is another good option.

Just grabbed one from Lowe's. Works so well I almost blinded myself with my Cryztal Luna.

^^^these will get the job done, but those 12 LED or less, 3W lights have nothing on that 18w, 100 LED hitter:

I think this one strikes a nice balance between power, price, compact, and lightweight. Casing is aluminum. Mine's a few years old, still going strong.

51 LED UV Flashlight for under $10

Pretty sure the same Chinese made light is sold/marketed by a bunch of online sellers.
It's not the 100 diodes FHowl packs, but with 51, still charges glo discs up well and casts a decent beam... way better than the 9 LED models.

If you are using some of these blacklights to play glow and charge your glow discs shy away from the super big ones. As a glow player those are too bright I think and can mess with night vision.

I'm with kenjiac here, prefer the smaller, streamlined lights for charging up my glow discs. I will concede that the 100 light beast is easily the brightest, but its also 3" x 3" x 7" and takes 6 AA batteries. Seems like overkill for glow golf and definitely wont slide easily into my pocket when I am ready to throw. Only need my ultrafire light on for 1-2 seconds to charge my disc and back in the pocket it goes.

@Bogey, I started with a 51 LED light like that one and ended up disappointed. It did not survive one glow round with 24 Chains passing it around the group, was broken and a piece or two was missing by the time we finished. Hopefully yours is a better built version than the one I bought.

@FP...point taken.

It seems reasonably constructed, and as I said, it's still working fine after a few years, but I don't think it would stand up well to rough treatment. Maybe I got lucky. But at that price, you could basically afford to buy a new one every year.

It fits in a pocket comfortably, and doesn't seem so bright as to excessively dialate pupils.

Public Safety Warning: UV should NEVER aimed at someone's face.

This is also the one i use. Ultrafire wf502b with the 18650 e cig batteries. Another great option is the smaller zoomable uv lights that use one AA battery or a 14500 lithium
