[Innova] For the love of the Bird! ..Teebird that is!

I have a gstar bird, its far more overstable and less glidey than a DX. In fact I own a multitude of Teebirds in many plastics and can't seem to find one that compares to a dx. Now, my gstar is very new and I suppose if I break it in it might be comparable.. Hmmmm. thanks!

Yes, keep working with it. Go throw it at a schoolyard repeatedly, while working on your form (killing two birds with one stone, or DG disc in this case). It'll season in.

Also, Keller's idea of an Echostar Teebird is a good one. My experience with Echostar is that it tends to stay where it is for a while, then "hey, presto!" suddenly seasons in to what it sounds like you're looking for.

I wish I could find more Echo Stars! I have had two and one is retired the other one I traded and can't get back. They season eventually but once they do they're absolute money. If the Proshop ever restocks the F2s I would try to grab as many as you can. They are basically firmer GStars.

It seems to depend on the disc, I threw a G* Teebird this week.. and it's been 110º+f outside.. and it wasn't floppy, others.. seem to get that way above 90ºf.

That's good to know because I had just chalked it up to differences in perception. I throw G-star in Texas summers and have never found it to be floppy.

G star varies a lot in stiffness. My first runs are nearly like star, and cfr's from the following year are more r-pro. But the latest stuff is flatter and stiffer than any g star tb yet.

Fellow Texan here, RGV area, my experience with G-Star has been entirely positive in the heat and humidity. Don't have any Teebirds in G-Star but I do have Thunderbirds, Destroyers, and Rhynos. I've yet to experience any of the negative effects people claim G-Star possesses in high temp and humidity situations.

Totally agree. I still prefer regular Star as a general rule, but Gstar has its place and is a great option/alternative/compliment to Star and Champion with its own positive characteristics.

I have a brand new one from 2013 if you want, 20 shipped. Its yellow with a twisted flyer stamp. I threw these for a while but prefer the g star. These things bomb though. PM me and I can send you pics.

Just jumping in here to express some love for this mold.

Since starting this sport, I've messed around with Teebirds, and generally have one in the bag. My use of them has been uncommon for various reasons. My original Champ is still almost Firebird OS. I've used Dx for a certain water hole over the years, but I've also used other Dx molds there too. I have put some Stars in the bag from time to time, but rarely get called on for serious duty.

Well, yesterday we had a 3 disc round from new tees that no one had ever played before. Having no idea what the distances or routes would be, i figured a Star Teebird would give me some versatility. Holy crap can you do a lot with those things. Powered down, they are overstable mids that might actually be better than overstable mids. ib4overstablemidsarepointless.

I had never before really cranked on a Star Teebird. Damn these things can go far. And flex? Holy line shaping...

Going forward, i fear I'll just slip back into specialist mode and again fail to use this fantastic mold to its true potential. Anyway, just thought I'd share.

I agree!

I wish I was patient enough to only carry 5-6 discs. The distance difference with an OS FD compared to a DD is smaller than one would expect. For my arm speed the Rival or River Pro suits me better but even I get my Star Avery almost as far, not to mention how reliable it is in the headwind.

After some field practice yesterday I feel like making my River, Very Beat KC I-dye Teebird, River Pro and fresh Star Avery Teebird (in order of stability) my full driver setup... But I won't. :D

Picked up a 171 weight Avery Jenkins *Teebird yesterday. Wanted to replace a dx one I lost last year and want something that fits in between my Gazelles, and g-line FD.
Excited to get it broken in.

^Took 6 years for a teebird haiku to be posted on this thread?!? Long overdue!!

Disced down in February from avengers to teebirds. Had never thrown them but they seemed similar number-wise and they have quite a following. Bought 2 in echostar with the totem stamp (no clue why I chose echo). The fade beat out almost completly after 2 months. Just super straight then a slight drift left at the end and a decent skip forward if the ground allows for it. They've stayed in that spot since and i couldn't be happier with them. After learning them I am getting them out as far and sometimes farther than my avengers but with soooo much more accuracy. I feel like they even helped me clean up my form some. Glad i found these when I did especially since the avenger is oop now. Just need to stock up on the echos but most places are out of stock right now.

echo star is no longer in production so you might want to hoard while you got the chance

Seriously?!? I was seeing them on eBay for $16 + $3 shipping and thought that was outrageous. Guess that explains it. Will keep an eye open for more that are reasonably priced. Don't wanna get into chasing oop discs and having to shell out for them.

Thanks for the heads up even though it kinda ruined my day.
