How long before your assigned your PDGA #?

I'm looking to get a specific pdga number and was wondering if they automatically assign you your pdga # as soon as you pay for your membership the first time?

The number I'm looking to get is coming up in the next 1000 so I'm wondering if I can get it by watching the numbers here http://www.pdga.com/players?FirstName=&LastName=&PDGANum=&Class=All&City=&StateProv=All&Country=All&Status=All&order=PDGANum&sort=desc

Well I have now... figured someone might know on here. You can't request a # though?

I don't know if they will hold a number or not. If it's close to that number I would hope they would do it for you.

I'd call and ask. I'm nearly positive Avery did it for his son.

Calling is an easier route. But I believe they do assign the number right as you sign up. A buddy of mine waited for a number and got it by watching.

I asked someone who works with the PDGA and they said they make exceptions but not very often.

I would ask them to do it, all they can do is say no.
