BALRODG (Banded Amateur League for Recreational Organized Disc Golf) is starting its 10th season with our preseason kickoff at Wabun Saturday March 19th. Everyone is welcome to come out at play and meet the league.

Most leagues meet at the same course, the same day of the week. BALRDOG has a unique format, the third Saturday of every month we host an event where all members meet at a course and play a skins match. Then between these events members have three 1v1 matches with other members that they can play at any course, any time between events.

For our league event we will be playing the best courses the TC have to offer, Kenwood, Vision Quest, Kaposia, Oakwood, Plymouth Creek for a night round and Bryant. We also will be taking a trip to Highbridge Hills in July. Attendance to these events or roadtrip are not required but points are awarded at these events.

Players earn points for matches (winner gets 3 points, loser get 2) and also earn points for the skins match (1st place on the card gets 4 points, 2nd 3 points, 3rd 2 pts and 4th 1 pt) these points determine your card during events and also the top points players play for the championship at the final event.

Our league consists of casual and rec players all the way up to intermediate and advance players, we all share our enjoyment for playing the game. Often times when arranging head to head matches other players will join and play for fun. We also have traveling tag team champ belts for dub rounds as well as members organizing fun rounds of RIPT, or other variations. Chances are if you want to get out any play someone from the league will also be looking to play.

Our dues are $30, which include a bag tag and a custom stamped disc. The rest of the dues go toward prizes, at each event we will be giving a prize to a feature card winner, as well as a random drawing for those in attendance. There will also be prizes at the end of the year event for bag tag, CTP and more.

If you are interested you can come to our preseason event, you don't need to pay unless you want to be a part of the league.

There are a surprisingly high percentage of us DGCR's in this league. Many have joined only because of posts like this. Just come out to Wabun Saturday before 10 am and look for a group. I can almost guarantee your level of skill is not outside the range of players in this league. Even if it is, you'd still be most welcome.
