Prefer pay to play. I've never paid and thought I got a bad deal. Most prices are comically low. Honestly, I'd like to see all courses eventually charge at least $5 to play. People who don't want to play a nice course are probably the #1 problem with disc golf imo.
 
living in the sacto area the somewhat recent addition of p2p course (sunrise dcg) is a relief from constantly having to play behind groups of 8-10 with ****ty music and no etiquette.
 
Most courses in my general area are in parks of some sort, some where you have to pay to park. Overall there isn't a dramatic difference in quality between the free courses and pay courses, so I'm typically going to choose the free courses more often.... (says the girl who has played her last 3 or 4 rounds at pay courses)
