Maybe it´s Swedish bureaucracy but i have never heard of that you can work for a company for years without signing anything
Even when i worked a few weeks in the summer breaks when i was young you always needed to sign a employment contract
After this and the mess she was in with prodigy and written contract, I think she demanded it that way as a "backdoor" to leave the company if things went south.
I always thought that oral contracts were only a thing in US, but no, it seems to be a legal way to do binding contracts in few countries I checked. It's still in grey area of contracts, legal, but hard to prove what was agreed upon, so it was most likely short list from Paige that DD could agree without written contract.
