Cool images I came across today reading HUB's blog.

Long story short... the grid above shows the paths of a 175g driver thrown 10 times. Each throw varies by 1 degree of release, from -5˚ to 5˚. So you're standing out in a field with a pile of drivers and going from hyzer to flat to anhyzer.

What I like the most about this chart is that it shows how much more room for error there is in a hyzer line. You can be off 3˚ in your release angle on a drive and still end up 20' from your next hyzer throw. Now look at what happens with the anhyzer throws. Being off 3˚ on your release means a 40-50' difference in where your disc lands.

A few common problems in setup posture that ruin the swing. Some drill solutions that helped this player linked in brackets.

(Left): Stance in open "unathletic" posture with
(a) horse-stanced (or "power stanced") & poor leg action [Pratt; PoP; SS]
(b) pelvis open to target [BW/IS ; Hersh 1; Hersh 2; OtC]
(c) slight S-curve in the spine [DFDs 1 2 3 4; (bonus - 5: hug a trashcan)],
(d) shoulder open/externally rotated [Slash; Shaolin; HammerBag; Toss],
(e) arm too extended & swinging down [(d) + Olympic; Hammer X],
(f) wrist out of leverage [(d) + (e) + Clement 1 2],

vs.

(Right): closed athletic neutral posture.

I was curious about the angulation of the arm from ~wrist to elbow entering the hit and thought some would find this interesting.

If you go back through the OT montages and look at lower power shots, the Anhyzer angle looks much more like Brinster's here. But when Simon and Drew go for max power they're basically swinging on shallow hyzers. The disc has slightly less angulation than that entering the hit, but they're relying on gravity entering the hit and allowing the disc to go quickly into a slight turnover for "Anhyzer."
