[Latitude] River vs. Vision

Have a tm vision and a gl version. Both are moderately understable with lots of glide, and both do end with a small fade after the turn. I like the ones in MY bag, but it sounds like theirs not much consistency....

The TM Vision I throw is probably my most beat disc. It's even warped a bit from some hard tree hits. It still fades back at the end. I don't have a driver that's as easy to throw, or that has the same glide.

I'll probably always have a TM Vision in my bag, since I bought 4 back-ups. :D

I found this very true (without over-powering it) the vision was probably the easiest disc to get 330'+ out of and STILL get to fade back it has a huge helix flight when new and IMO a better beginner disc than the diamond (unless you are a super noodle arm or elder etc)

Vision probably one of lat's most underrated discs... Threevok- Do your visions have any flash? sand them down and should be very straight/right finishing but new and domey visions will fade back specially given enough height and also make for great sweeping hyzer discs with low power.

I just went and tossed it in a field, and it is not understable. I mean this thing straight overlaps with my volts. I wanted to find a replacement because I love lats plastic, but this thing isn't a roller disc.

I've read on here that it's pretty inconsistent. Mine was not like a Volt, even when new. Not even close.

Yeah PC sounds like you got a freak OS one.. I had a couple GL's that flew more like rivers /strikers than visions.. Flatter opto visions are the flippiest IMO especially the early runs with the old stamp.

I gave up on Lat.64 after falling in love with them from their first appearance at GGGT (all the molds were identical, no flash at all, just quality feeling) but since they first came out vs now their consistency has basically turned to innova-- people love the looks of lat. plastic but IMO you never know how they will fly until you get them out there.. Fuses go from stable to flippy, havocs can be like a halo or bolt, strikers can be super OS or normal and the same with flows, cores are either pop-tops or flat, its just on and on and on not like smalllllll issues either the discs litterally are night and day.

Loved the discs but... not what they used to be!

Yeah I have never had a vision that stable-- maybe BRAND new with tons of flash but my volts fly much straighter and stable than any vision no matter what power level, the volt SHOULD be more OS.

Chains - mine has a wee bit of flash and is flat. Probably the reason it isn't a flipmeister is my elevation and the flash. I'd better leave it alone.. I only have one. I got a bunch of Lat 64 from Disc Outfitters when they liquidated and haven't had time/weather to work on them in the field. Thanks for the big hyzer tip. I throw everything flat cause I'm a noob.

Hey-- flat is where its at! if you can master that throw then any other angle is easy' def. try the vision for huge hyzer shots in high elevation or tailwinds... its a hell of disc glad to see there is a following! I don't really throw discs that understable anymore just because I don't really need them and found my Strikers(now volts) to hold the lines I need at my power for driving or just disc down to a mid. From an old lat. 64 fanboy RIP vision, pure, fuse and core. I <3 MVP :D but have a hard time getting rid of my strikers (old runs) just sooooo buttery and straight flying T-birds don't have $#!t on these yellow & green FR opto strikers.

MMM thats the ones!!! i love those-- yours is a new stamp not sure how they compare to the old runs with the crazy stamp.. anyone have a pic to post of the old runs PLH?

I can't speak for the Vision, but If you like the River and want something with similar, but longer flight try a Saint or a Dynamic Discs Escape.

This.

Visions come from beefcakes to flip-freaking-tastic and is the exact reason I no longer throw them. Rivers leaving the bag is an entirely different story, but I would shy away from the Vision if I were you.

I love this! This is exactly why people love destroyers so much! They can cover the whole spectrum with one disc.

lol... welllllp really glad i switched from Lat. now.. whats next?! that's some &^#(*@! if you ask me' Those numbers are like the 2 molds they already were producing anyways depending on your luck... WOW at least they got one of them figured out.

I read at Disc Golf Center the Vision is being tweaked.

Sounds like the flight numbers are being tweaked, rather than the disc it self. At least, seems like it's not what was intended when it was first made, so numbers are being tweaked...glad I've got my stash of nice understable GLs and Optos....
I love my Visions for big sweeping anny shots. That fade at the end does sort of beat out, but you can still get it if you throw it right. A little flatter release with more flip for the anny, gets you the end fade. Big anny release sky anny, will get it spiking into the ground.

New vision and stable volt. Picture sucks, I know. But you get the idea.

I saw that too on DGC.

Due to a change in the manufacturing process, the new Visions are rated 8,6,-1,2 and have Stable Control Driver at the top of the stamp.

At least they are stamping them differently. I have a hard time telling the difference between one of these and a Valkyrie, at least in terms of feel and flight characteristics.

I have to wonder if this issue has been affecting Visions for several runs, and they are just now stamping them differently.

But I also noticed the newer rivers I got are much more stable than I remember. They seem more like a Teebird or TL to me than a Leopard.
