Tahoe and Reno and Grass valley, 4 days in JUne Help

Not to thread jack, but what are the top 3 courses in this reno, tahoe area?

If Kirkwood is open then I will try and play:

Kirkwood
Turtle Rock
Zephyr
Bijou

all in one day? Is this possible with 2-3 guys around mid June with like 14 hours of daylight and all good players? Let me know. What about Ricks Revenge? Hows that course. What are the nice Hotels in South Lake Tahoe where I can get a room for the wife and I. I need a hotel where thats close to all the stuff south lake has to offer to keep the wife busy and happy threw the day.
WE stumbled on the 3 Peaks Resort when we went on our trip. The place was clean and pretty cheap for the size of the room studios. It was only a short walk from the lake and casinos. http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Re...e_Tahoe_Lake_Tahoe_California_California.html

If you are in the Tahoe area and do not play Zephyr Cove I will personally hunt you down with a scraggly piece of manzanita.

The top 3 "Rated" courses are:
Zephyr Cove - 4.37
Turtle Rock - 4.11
Bijou - 4.1

However, my favorite course in the area is Kirkwood (3.79) which probably gets dinged in the ratings because it's only open 3-4 months a year, has little or no signage, can be tough to find your way around and is a tough hike, especially if you're coming from a lower elevation.

Help ya out

I'd be happy to show you around the farther south courses ie Sierra college (rocklin?), auburn, hanging oaks, condon park. If in fact you do mean rocklin then I think you should make the 15 minute trip and play shady oaks if you've never been there. Just let me know what dates you were thinking and well go have some fun. -Jeff

Is Sierra College in Truckee kid friendly? Thinking about playing it this weekend. Also, someone in course review said that there is third course in Truckee? I couldn't find it, all I see is Truckee Regional and Sierra College? Anyone car to enlighten me?

is there a course in Donner Ski Ranch or is there one going in? Also I heard there is a new course going in somewhere in Tahoe this summer and might be open in August. Anyone know? Anyone know when or if Centennial park in Carson City has a course or when its going in? Can anyone provide a number to someone who is in charge of disc golf in Squaw. I want to see when they think the course will be ready this year.

Depends on the kids. It's a good walk, lots of elevation change. Can be difficult to find your way around, though not impossible. The baskets are all numbered and (most of) the tees have the number marked in sharpee on the frame, but here are no signs and the orange stringers they hung to guide you around have been there over a year now and are a bit worse for the wear. Your best bet is to find a guide. There usually aren't a whole lot of people out there, because it's a fairly difficult course and the rec players tend to stay at the Truckee River course. There were plans to put another course in Truckee, but it got shot down by the NIMBYs.

Donner Ski Ranch is the course that got shot down by NIMBYs. Last I heard, the new Tahoe course is not a sure thing yet. Haven't heard a word about a course in Carson City. Try contacting Craig Getty (775-762-1952) re: Squaw. He is the course designer. He probably doesn't know when it's going in, but should have a good idea who to contact at Squaw.

PDGA website lists Craig's phone # as 775-762-1956. NOt sure which one is correct.

Can anyone help me to get on Silva Acres in pioneer park in Nevada city. I hear you need Truk or Matt's permission and I would love to play the course on fathers day. Please pm me the info if you know anything about this private course. I've seen the video on YouTube and it looked fun. I'm down if I can get permission.

I met the guy last week. I'll see what I can do for ya.

So it looks like I'm in for the Nevada city course, thanks for the number. Probably playing that one on fathers day. Is there any courses in Tahoe that Aden open during the week or only open at certain times?

Less then two weeks away and I will be flying solo on friday the 15th.

schedule:

Dayton
Fenley
All 3 adventure courses ( I have permission)
The Ranch

Saturday :

Toneys Mountain (early)
Sierra College
Truckee
Sqauw (it will be open on the 15th officially)
North Tahoe
NOrth Tahoe Lions

That's an unrealistic schedule Lion. There's no possible way that you'll be able to get all those courses in a weekend. Squaw alone will take you half a day without a guide.
