[Axiom] Vanish

This is why we compare apples to apples. And not apples to oranges. I don't throw an H1 but it seems, form the numbers, to use its blockyness to achieve over stability.

This is why I posted discs that I believe will be similar to the Vanish.

These are all similar and can, therefore, be used to compare flight.
MVP Disc Sports Photon 175.1 21.1 1.4 1.1 16.6 2.2 5.2 26.75
Axiom Discs Vanish 175.1 21.1 1.5 1.1 16.6 2.2 5.2 27.75
Innova Discs Tern 175.1 21.1 1.7 1.1 16.6 2.3 5.2 28.50
MVP Disc Wave 175.1 21.1 1.4 1.1 16.6 2.2 5.2 29.25

Innova-Champion Discs Firebird 175.1 21.1 1.4 1.2 17.3 1.9 5.7 26.75
Uses its sleeker design to achieve overstability along with a thicker and deeper rim

Prodigy Disc H1 176.8 21.3 1.8 1.2 17.4 1.9 5.6 31.75
This thing is just a block. I assume. I don't throw one. But the numbers would indicate it achieves OS in a somewhat different way than the Firebird. Although, again, thick and deep rim with a similar speed.

In the case of the Vanish, again, comparing it to like numbered discs, I made my educated guess. Apples to apples. The numbers don't lie. They tell a story.

OK so tell me how these three discs fly-

Disc 1- 175.1 21.1 1.6 1.1 16.7 2.2 5.2 26.50
Disc 2- 175.1 21.1 1.7 1.2 16.6 2.3 5.7 29.25
Disc 3- 175.1 21.1 1.4 1.1 16.7 2.2 5.2 28.50

Disc 1- 175.1 21.1 1.6 1.1 16.7 2.2 5.2 26.50
12/4/0/4

Disc 2- 175.1 21.1 1.7 1.2 16.6 2.3 5.7 29.25
13/5/1/4

Disc 3- 175.1 21.1 1.4 1.1 16.7 2.2 5.2 28.50
12/5/-3/1

LOL. But in all seriousness, that Rask seems to have an interesting design. Probably not something MVP is going to use. If this Vanish DOES come out looking like that, I'll send you a disc. But I can't promise it will be a good one...

So you had to look through the specs to find the disc? :p

As you can see you have two real beefcake drivers and one super flippy one, no way could you determine which is which by the numbers provided.

Haha, the last two it could have been done. But, no, not the outlier. That is where your design of the disc comes in to play. I don't mess around with discs like that though. That's why I am in an MVP thread.

It only has everything to do with the shape of the wing and PLH. OK lets try this again but I will very slightly skew the numbers to disguise the disc.

Disc 1- 175.1 21.1 1.6 1.1 16.9 2.1 5.2 27.75
Disc 2- 175.1 21.1 1.4 1.1 16.9 2.1 5.2 26.75

Tell me the flight and I will send you $20 Paypal.

Beats the heck out of "Roach" :gross:
I don't think so.

I like that MVP discs are predominantly flat. I prefer that feel over domey.

That's a big draw. A huge bonus for me and I do prefer them flatties as well.

I like low pro and flat!

I still like getting a domey plasma MVP, but I like the majority flat.

The Vanish is an understable 21.5mm distance driver from Axiom Discs.* The Vanish will be straight to understable depending on the thrower and wind conditions.* The Vanish's stability profile places it near a threshold of being straight at low power or in tailwinds, and controllably understable at high power or in mild headwinds.*

Introducing the Special Edition Axiom 1616 Neutron Vanish, in stores April 29th.*

To commemorate the release of the Neutron Vanish, we are offering a Special Edition run of the 3-foil Axiom 1616 stamp.* The Axiom 1616 stamp is our artist's interpretation of what Axiom would be up to 400 years ago -- a high-tech flying machine!* The design is executed in beautiful triple-foil stamping, with holographic silver and black foils with red holographic accent foil.

Axiom 1616 will be used during 2016 as a Special Edition commemorative stamp.* Each 1616 stamping run will be available once for a limited amount of time, stamped on demand during pre-release orders or while supplies last. *

We do not release total run counts for Special Editions, as opposed to quantity-based Limited Editions.* There is no dealer limit for this Special Edition, as they are stamped on demand while blank supplies last.

The plasma discs are said to have a higher shoulder giving them a little more glide from what I have read but I like a disc that is "predictable". I have had some really bad experiences with other molds (ahem.....DD Escape) in which no matter how many I bought, they all seemed to be a little different than each other, domey, flat, slight dome, etc. I have picked up about 7-8 craves so far, a couple wraths, couple Insanity's, Virus and fireballs and they all have the same flight plates/wings etc and have similar flights with the exception of the weight differences (153g vs max weight). I'm not a fan of their mid range discs right now, but really like their fairway drivers, putters and up to 10 speed drivers. To wrap it up though, the names do leave a lot to be desired, but I don't throw based on the "name" of the disc. ;)

1616 seems like a very strange theme to think up out of nowhere for a series of commemorative stamps. Unless Axiom has some other connection to that number besides the fact that it comes 400 before 2016 that I'm not picking up on.

That said, I do love me an old fashioned flying contraption.

Axiom Aerostat FTW!

They should've just called this disc the "Van". And used this image in greyscale as a stamp.

This one could be a limited edition stamp and sell for 2x as much.

So another series of discs with the same stamp?.... Well at least they aren't releasing multiple molds at the same time with it....

I guess I should have read the press release first...

Make sure you check the rims for disc names before buying.....

...You don't want to be a donkey like me and buy the wrong disc...

Well back to the disc itself, it looks like it has a more roller friendly wing than the orbital. So, I am pretty sure I will be picking one up for a test run.
