Innova DISCatcher Sport VS. Lightning DB5

I had this same choice earlier this year, and ended up going with the Sport. They work just fine, and we haven't bothered to add an extra layer of chains. The final decision was based on 2 things at the time. 1) the Sport had free shipping, and 2) the DB5 was out of stock for a couple of weeks...

Overhand shots to be prohibited in 2013

Don't worry, I heard that the world is going to end in 2012, so this rule will never be implemented.

    Score cards

When we were still working on the layout of our course (18 holes played from 6 teeboxes to 6 baskets) we used a blank score card to try various layouts. I still have it here It also works good for playing "Safari" on a course.

    [Vibram] Vibram Five Fingers KSO

I have a pair of KSOs that I've worn for 2 summers now, and the strap is starting to wear through in one place. My new KSO Treks are just fine after 1 season and don't show any signs of wear.

    [Vibram] Vibram Disc Golf Thread

I just played a round yesterday with my soft ridge in temperatures that were just about freezing (30f) the Soft X-Link was a bit stiffer at that temperature, but certainly not as stiff as regular X-Link at room temperature. Still plenty grippy, and still pretty floppy. Also played with my Firm...

    [Vibram] Vibram Disc Golf Thread

The firm x-link seems more like regular premium plastic to me (as far as their stiffness goes). The regular is reasonably flexible, and the soft is super floppy. I can take my soft ridge and just roll it up into a tube. It does take some getting used to. I have been using my soft ridge for both...

    [Vibram] Vibram Disc Golf Thread

I'm getting the Ridge out to about 250 now, and about 350 with my lighter Ascent, so still have some work to do on speed. I have a Firm VP and Summit, but not really a fan of the way the VP flies for me, or the way the Summit feels. The Ridge is really my putter of choice. Just got my Firm...

Post a cool disc golf photo

Was playing today and my soft Ridge really wanted to make it to the basket no matter how bad of a line I picked for it. Yup, that's how it landed, or rather failed to land ... directly on line with the basket.

    dga m-14 basket

The Whole basket uses little spring-pins to hold the base/pole/basket/chain assembly together. It is pretty easy to assemble. There is a short section of pole with spring pins on both ends that I assume is for holding everything together for storage, pin it in the basket, place the chain...

Have any of these mythical Slower X-Link Firm Ascents been released to the wild?

    [Vibram] First run ascent

Nah, I'd been using this Ridge as my primary putter from July until I got my soft ridge a couple weeks ago. Four months of bouncing it off of rocks and trees didn't seem to change it (grip or flight wise) at all. I even remember dumping my bag out in the bath tub and giving all my discs a rinse...

    [Vibram] First run ascent

So I gave my somewhat slick X-Link Ridge a little washing today (At Steve's suggestion) and it did make it grippier. So, what is it that we are washing away? Is it a release agent used in the mold, or something else?

    [Vibram] Vibram Disc Golf Thread

Just noticed this on the Vibram site: I assume the lines under the flight ratings are simply graphical representations of each of the rating numbers? What is the significance of the red line? The Ascent is expected to fly 460'? wow, I've got a bunch of work to do, I'm barely getting it to...

    [Vibram] First run ascent

The first runs are X-Link (the regular kind) and they are plenty flexible. I'm using my Ascents on most throws where there's a high probability of activating a multi-ball bonus (hitting multiple trees) ... which is actually pretty often on our course. I think the kick you get is more a function...
