[Gateway] got my gateway direct order today...

Nice. I just got my order a couple days ago. (after UPS decided to send it to Maryland first, which caused it to be rescheduled for 6 days later than original date..) I ordered a HPP Wizard with a Marley dye and they threw in a Warlock and two minis. Pretty good deal, though I would've been...

    probably a stupid question....

It's a different stamp, but also a different "run" of that mold, so one could come out more stable, overstable, etc. (they were produced in essentially a different year) So a different run might be more preferable. Still speculating here, but I think that might be close. :D

    probably a stupid question....

I've been boggled over such things myself. I believe 10x, 11x, etc means a disc with a Ken Climo stamp, denoting how many times he had won a World Championship at that time?

    disc golf clothes

They are good, but they don't seem to hold up much better than regular socks, as far as wear and tear, which is kind of disappointing for the money. They do look pretty cool though and seem to help keep my feet comfortable.

    disc golf clothes

I usually roll in some cargo shorts, two pair of sweat-wicking socks, and either a dry-fit type shirt or just a cotton t. When I got back into dg this spring I was just wearing whatever shoes I had on, but my right ankle, knee, and hip started feeling jacked. I got a pair of Keen hiking boots...

    Hybrid 18 better than a 9?

I play a course called Red Oak that has 9 baskets and 18 tees (marked 1-18) and it really works well. http://www.dgcoursereview.com/course.php?id=552 I never played it before they made the change, but it does feel a lot like an 18 holer. Granted, some of the holes feel exactly like a...

    gateway plastics and dyeing

I dyed a Medium Wizard in the cheap plastic (can't remember what it's called). I had to let it sit longer than any other disc I've tried, which were all premium plastic (and not Gateway). The dark green came out gray and the black came out dark gray. Those were the only problems I had. (no...

    First timer..

Thanks. I'm hoping once the "newness" factor wears off, I will have the patience to spend a lot of time on a single dye. When you guys do something more complex, do you trace the design onto the contact paper and cut directly on the disc? I ran in to trouble when I tried to do lettering. I am...

    First timer..

Hi guys -- I've been reading these forums and taking a look at some of the unbelievable dyes you guys are creating and it really inspired me to give it a try. What a great hobby to pursue, alongside an even better hobby. :) I spent a good couple hours shopping for supplies and finally put my...

[Discraft] Let's talk about the Surge!

Love the Surge lovin! I found an ESP Surge a little over a week ago and it's already become my go-to long distance driver. I had never considered buying one, since I figured it was too fast for me, but I really love the grip and feel of it. I think I can honestly say it's flown further for me...

    When was your first Ace?

My first ace was in July '09 at Staring Lake in Eden Prairie, MN. It was on hole 1, which is a 170 ft downhill shot, with a tree hanging over the fairway and woods on the back and left side of the basket. Threw a Pro-D Buzzz and it looked like it was in slow motion as it floated to the basket. I...

How many courses did you play in your first year?

I think it was just 2 for me. East Park and Slatterly in Rochester, MN the year they were built. ('96) I might have played a few in Colorado that year too.

    Ever play in a tournament?

Good idea for a poll. It will be interesting to see the results, though I suppose most people who read these forums and signed up for the site are fairly big into DG. I've never played a tourney, but this is the first year I've gotten serious about DG. My goal is to enter one next year, once I...

Review by JSL5000 in course Bryant Lake Park

5.00 star(s) Gotta be a 5 Challenging course, but enjoyable for more casual players as well. Excellent cement teepads. Grippy and big. Dual basket placements on 6 (I think) of the holes. A couple of which might be in place at the same time, so you can choose which to shoot for. They seem to change them...

    First Tournament

Congrats! That's a big step, and one that I have yet to take. Were you nervous? Were the people you played with better or worse players than you expected? (in general) Were you worried about violating some obscure rule the whole time, or was it pretty chill? Sorry for all the random questions...
