Small town 9

Reviewed: Played on:Feb 22, 2024 Played the course:once

Pros:

Nice new baskets
Decent tee signs for both Red and Blue tee areas

Cons:

Grass tee areas.
Distance between some of the holes

Other Thoughts:

Ok, as I walked up to the tee are for hole one, there was a tennis event going on. I did notice there were two tee signs, I elected to just play the reds because I didn't want a bad shot to go into the tennis area with a tournament going on.

Hole1 was is pretty close to the tennis course with a low fence between the court and the fairway.

Then I get to hole 1, the blue tee was over 500 foot with a pond covering the last 1/2 of that. I elected to just keep playing the red tee boxes because I had already played 5 rounds before this and was tired.

Hole 2 is a decent shot with the pond to the right and the basket placed on the dam of the pond.

Just going to say this, hole 3 was the best and really only good hole on the course. Over the edge of the pond with the basket down in a grove of large tree's.

The next several holes are kind of boring, hole 4 is a long mostly open shot, then a longish walk to tee 5 which throws around the edge of a ball field. Holes 6 and 7 also throw around the fields. Hole 7 is crazy, even from the red it said 400ft. I threw a big turnover shot because there was no mando posted and had an easy up shot for the 3.

Longish walk to hole 8 with an ob road down the right side of the fairway.

Longish walk to hole 9 that has a mando 1/2 way down the fairway so you throw around the playground instead of over it.

The blue tee's really add some distance to the course. They would mostly be tweener holes in that they are between a par 3 or a par 4 hole. For me, they would be hard easy 3's with no chance of a 2. I personally don't enjoy courses like that very often.

Would I play here again? No, it's a one and done course. If I lived locally and didn't want to drive into Jackson, I would play here because it's better than nothing. But even from the blue tee's, the course isn't all that great.
