You have 2 sets of concrete tee pads on every hole, and the Pro pads definitely add a lot of challenge and creativity to the course. There are tee signs at every pad, and each hole are equipped with good permanent baskets. Lot of variety in shots, some of the Par 4's, for bigger arms will make you think twice about going for it, as the landing areas near the baskets can be tight. Lot's of OB to make you think about what route you take to the basket, if you take some of the more difficult lines though, and nail them, you will be rewarded. It's a beautiful park, and the course had an easy flow. Plenty of parking here with nice practice basket area.

Some of the wooded areas around the course are very thick. Though the flow is great with the course, there are times other holes are at risk from errant shots. Course seems very susceptible to wind.

I love this course, this area just has so many good ones. I probably enjoy Circle C a little more than this one(plays to my limitations better, haha) but if Austin was to ever host worlds(PLEASE) this would be a top candidate in the area for MPO and FPO(IMO this and Roy G would be best) due to punishing OB, tight landing greens, and the par 3's are not birdie fests(for most anyways).

TL/DR: Play this course, it's different than everything else in Austin, and challenges you in different ways.

- the rough can be pretty nasty on certain holes
- a few spots where fairways and greens come pretty close which could be a bit of a safety issue.
- the OB can be very punishing

A really great course to add to the already great scene in Austin. More of a park course compared to Roy G or Circle C.

Played the day before a tournament was scheduled. I hit several OBs and played lousy. Scored a 98 on the short tees. That's why I'm still amateur. The best part about this course is that you can start on hole 10 if holes 1-9 look busy and hit them later.

Course design is like a professional course, good OB placement which sets up for challenging shots. It is a challenge with birdie and bogey possibilities on all holes.
Practice basket, good tee pads (except hole 16).
Hole 9 ends/hole 10 begins by the parking lot, so you can play only the front 9 or the back 9.

Currently the course needs a lot of mowing, so there are many tall plants on the fairway of 14. The grass is tall enough on all the other holes that there is no chance of skips and sometimes it can be a little hard to find your disc.
If you throw across the creek on some holes it is a jungle with snakes (I've seen one each round).
With both those said, the fact that it is summer worsens the issue, it's probably much better in the winter.
It's a long course with lots of walking in between holes, make sure you have a map if it's your first time because the layout is a little complicated. Be prepared to be on the course a long time.

The majority of the holes are wide open with either few trees or skinny (not bushy) trees, so there is almost no off fairway rough. This is compensated by the abundance of OB.
13 of the 18 holes are par 4. The par 4s are a little harder than the par 4s at Circle C, but a little easier than the par 4s at Roy G.
The 5 par 3s play easier than the par 4s, 2 are RHBH/LHFH, 2 are LHBH/RHFH, and one is straight.

Holes in order if you want a review of each, this is assuming RH:
1) Tee is by the practice basket. Many skinny trees on this hole so if you go off fairway it's not too damaging. One of the few holes with no real OB. A backhand up the middle sets up a tunnel approach for a birdie, or a forehand drive sets up a forehand over everything for a birdie.
2) Lots of OB on the left side pressing up close to the fairway, quite a few trees in the fairway that are easily avoidable. Water behind the basket makes a forehand approach the better choice. One of the harder holes on the course.
3) The next 6 holes are carried over from the old layout. A short, straight par 3 with the creek right behind and left of the basket, so a forehand is recommended. I recommend playing it safe because you do not want your disk to be across the creek.
4) A tunnel fairway with the creek on the right. There is a tributary near the basket so it is easy to land in the water.
5) A long par 4 with many trees early. A risky option of throwing your drive over the creek or if you have a strong enough backhand you can throw a big hyzer. The approach is a forehand approach behind two large guardian trees.
6) The hardest hole on the course. Both the backhand and forehand line are risky with many many many trees and the creek. The shape of the hole and a good guardian tree makes it so it is a forehand approach.
7) A big open huck-em hole. The elevated basket makes putting more challenging.
8) A short right turning hole. Tight fairway with OB on both sides.
9) A big backhand hzyer par 3. Simple hole.
10) A forehand hole with the ideal drive carrying over the OB the entire way. A well designed forehand par 3, there isn't really a backhand line. Can get pretty windy.
11) Similar to 10 with the creek/OB line on the left side. Past the first group of trees there's no other trees, but some tight OB, with lots of wind.
12) Many trees by the tee pad but after that there's no other trees. Any sort of drive sets up an approach to the island green; a shorter drive means your approach needs to be a forehand.
13) A much more wooded par 3 than any of the previous holes. A short, tight, tunnel drive will lead to a birdie if your shot gets through.
14) Like 13, wooded in a different way than all the other holes. Turns left the entire hole. Off fairway puts you in the rough with trees instead of OB. Currently the fairway is very overgrown. Two big backhands will lead to a birdie.
15) A open hole with a pond on the right side. Backhand first shot to stay out of the water (the water line is closer than it looks due to many plants growing out of the lake), than any approach over the remaining part of the lake up the hill will work.
16) A blind par 3 with lots of OB so it feels like an island hole. A large mound of dirt and rubble makes it a backhand hole, but it is possible to use a forehand.
17) A right turning par 4 with a narrow fairway near the end due to OB. Two forehands can set up a birdie.
18) An island fairway with a narrow peninsula to the green. Only a few trees near the end, the main obstacle is keeping your disk in bounds. Backhand drive works better, the approach can be either.

Final thoughts: This is a fun, new, challenging course which rivals Roy G and Circle C in terms of the entertainment and difficulty of the course. Ultimately, I would say that the environment (water, mud, overgrowth) is worse than the other courses currently, but it is still an entertaining play.
