Gorgeous surroundings, but not a good course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:May 15, 2020 Played the course:once

Pros:

-The views! 360* panoramas of Ogden Valley and both mountain ranges on every hole.
-9 functioning baskets.
-The views.
-Hole # 6 is really fun. A 450' downhill bomber that finishes left behind some shrubs.
-Did I mention how awesome the views are?
-Safe layout. The designer did a great job of making sure the nearby populated areas (golf course driving range, parking lot, walking paths & condos) were in no danger of flying discs.

Cons:

-Other than Hole # 6, the remaining eight other holes are quite bland. Some elevation changes are nice, but with no mature trees (and only sparse shrubs and bushes) most of these holes are wide open for you to pick pretty much any line you want. No shot shaping abilities required.
-Tee pads are worn rubber and not level. They're also very small, as in "one step drive" small.
-The course grounds are in really bad shape. It's a field of unkempt weeds that are already starting to grow a bit out of hand, even though it's early in the season. I'd assume this course becomes nearly unplayable in the summer. While the rest of Wolf Creek Resort is immaculately maintained, the chunk of land used for disc golf looks nothing like the rest of the property.
-Probably related to the unkempt grounds, this place is snake central. I spotted three snakes in my short 9 hole round. Once the weeds grow any taller, those snakes are going to be very difficult to spot.
-Only 9 holes, over half of which are very short. Combine that with the wide open lines, and it would make for a dull round even if the course was in better shape.

Other Thoughts:

This might be the most disappointed I've ever been in a disc golf course. I've played quite a few courses with similar ratings (3.25 stars prior to my review) in a variety of states, and this is absolutely nowhere close to a 3.25 star course. It's short, bland, and not maintained.

Eden, UT is a beautiful little mountain town, and if you're up in the area it's probably worth stopping by with a putter for a one disc round. But I wouldn't recommend going out of your way to play this course.
