Other Thoughts:

Walnut Grove Park hosts a decent DGC on the north side of Toronto, IA. The park itself straddles the Wapsipinicon River. There is camping and river access on the north side, the DGC is on the south. It appears the only other thing in this part of the park are a couple of roads and half a basketball court. While the roads are in play on several holes, there isn't much action in this part of the part, so it's really not an issue. The biggest issue here is the crossing fairways. There is so much crossing I color coded the map per hole (see Course Map). Now, given the locality of Toronto, and the fact you will probably be playing alone, it's probably OK. It you were to have groups all over the course, it might be a problem. The play was kinda fun. 3 holes are over 350', so this is not just a pitch 'n putt. Some large trees to work around and minimal elevation make this a good beginner to intermediate course. Making sure you are heading to the right basket (especially to #3 and #8 which are close) is a little tricky for the first timer. Overall a decent course in a town of around 100 people, a little out of the way, but a decent bag. If I happen to be back in the area, I might play it again.
