What is a good woods midrange?

On another note, I think I'm just going to give the Buzzz SS a shot and soon after try the Comet. Then If I feel like I need something different, I'll try a Fuse. Thanks all!

Can't say enough good things about the Fuse. I have the GL plastic, 176g and it's solid. Not a scuff on it. Glides really well and is so straight.

FLX Buzzz all the way. That is exactly why I got one. Great midrange disc because it is a Buzzz and awesome platic that will take all the abuse of tthe trees that it hits. It has always stayed true to the flight pattern as when I first got it.

From the wooded Northwest myself. The disc you described in your OP is the Z Buzzz. Nothing holds up better or carves up lines as well. If my home course werent Pier Park I'd probably throw DX and KC Rocs but they just don't hold up and the really good premium rocs cost way too much.

My woods discs are:

Star Skeeter
ESP Impact
Sirius Aurora MS (Really like this one)

While I'm thinking about it, if I haven't stocked my bag for a wooded course, I'll use an Aero. Given that they only come in DX, I consider these expendable discs. I'll go through a few every year. (In fact I need to order some right now.)

If you want something straight out of the box go buzzz, classic roc, fuze, comet or metor. If you want to have a beat in period go with cro, roc, hornet, or wasp.

Dogwood/Lindsey Gold Tyler Texas

One of the hardest most wooded courses lies down here in East Texas. I have beat up every mid range known to man and I would have to say my nominee would have to be the Mako(preferably Glow plastic) or Star Leopard!!!!!!!

Looking for something good in the woods. Mostly one that will hold up with hitting trees. But also if it can fly straight that would be great too. BTW, I throw about 300-325.

Thanks!

i personally find slightly understable HSS in the woods to be best. mainly because alot of times you dont have much if any room for foot work. so many shots are one steps or no steps. they also allow you to focus on hitting your line rather than making the disc hold its line.
I personally use a X Buzzz or an Ontario Roc in the woods. The O Roc has alot of straight fade.
i dont really like the ESP or Z buzzzs much in the woods. the end fade is an unnecessary calculation and takes away from making a clean line.
Other Great Discs for this:
QMS & SMS
Fuse (I found Goldline to be too grippy when its warm out)
Shark
Mission

esp flex buzzz
170+ wolf > low celing shots
150 z flick = get out of jail free in woods disc

discs that naturally rise up would be bad you have more chance to hit branches

Champion Shark - highly durable, nice slow straight flight, will hold most a line off the pad and gently fade at the end of flight. I use it as my straighter Z Buzzz because it has a predictable fade at the end.

in addition to the Tyler dogwood course we have the nacogdoches lake course.

Us east texas guys know how to play in the woods

I can do just about anything with my glow buzzz and esp meteor

I use the Buzz.. flies nice and straight. You just need to get a few repetitions to get a feel for it.

Opto line Striker flies dead straight for me, out to about 350 feet. The plastic holds up to pretty much everything, even gravel. A Buzzz FLX would be my other choice, but it is a little slower, and doesn't thumb very well.
