What shoes do you wear while playing?

Can anyone tell me how warm Gore-Tex gets in the summer? I might keep my low top New Balance all terrain for hot dry days, and keep my new ones with the Gore-Tex for the cool, wet , rainy days.

I wear terribly uncomfortable Nike Dunks, but they're the only shoes I have right now, and I have no money, so I guess I'm stuck with'em for a while.

I wear a pair of adidas hightops. They are bright green, leather, semi-waterproof and i cant wear them out

Merrell MOAB. These shoes normally last an intense disc golf season. I was definitely ready for new ones near the holidays though. get the Goretex for the heavy rain, sloppy days stuck on the course.

New Balance 410s, 642s. A pair of Hi-Tecs[can't remember the model]. Tevas. Barefoot. Sometimes my cycling shoes if we rode to play.

Guys, can you spare a link to your shoe choice?

I've been wearing my Patagonia Release.

5 Months out of the year here, it is unbearably hot. These shoes are well ventilated and I use them for hiking. They grip well on not so grippy tee cement and or grass.

But I think there is a better choice or is there?

I need some new disc golf shoes and I want to check your suggestions.

$20 nike's that are very durable, held up for over 8 months now and are just now showing wear on the toe.

You might want to try something with some more traction. I just bought the boots for the waterproofing on wet and muddy days, but on dry days, I wear these: New Balance 573. They run between $40 to $50 depending on where you shop. Very comfortable

I got these for the wet days. I have wanted these for a very long time. These have major traction and support

I think the Goretex holds in heat, but I may be wrong. I have a pair of Nike Rongbuks that have Goretex in them. They do well but I don't think I wore them a lot when it was warm outside. I did buy a pair of the Bite disc golf shoes on ebay a while back when they were marked down. The Bite shoe is ok, but not really water proof as described. I do rotate between shoes often. Still looking for a shoe that can get some grip wet brick-layed tee boxes.

Patagonia Tsalis... AMAZING, probably the best trail running shoes I've had to date. Lightweight, durable and tons of support.

Hangwind, these are probably better for dg than the releases you have, they're lighter.

Yea, on hot , dry days, I am going to wear my New Balance 573s. They breath well, and keep my feet cool. On the wet and muddy, cold days, I am going to wear the Gore-Tex boots. Its been raining for 2 weeks around here and the courses are soaked and muddy, so my new shoes will get a work out this weekend.

I really like them.

My Releases where bought for hiking but damn if I can get a lighter shoe that's going to last, I'm on it. One of the things that I do like with using the same shoe for hiking and discing is that I know what kind of traction they carry.

I've seen my friends nearly face plant from slipping. We sometimes bail on the cement if it is slick or wet and just thrown in the grass beside and or behind the slab.

It's interesting, on a tee pad, there is a lot of round swirls, lots...

My favorite pair right now are the Salomon Exit 2 Aeros. I tried on the gortex version (GTX) version but they were way too hot. I find the Exit 2 Aeros do a good job with a little water and mud. Only if If I'm going through heavy dew, snow, or raining do I grab my waterproof Keens. They are the Keen Siskiyou mid tops (WP). They are a little wider than I prefer. I have a pair of Keen Voyageur low tops that I hate and I think they are giving me plantar fasciitis whenever I wear them. They are too loose for me. If you have a wide foot, Keens are great for you. But for those of us that don't, then I recommend getting the midtops if you have your heart set on a pair of keens. Otherwise give the Exit 2's a try.
