What was the first disc you bought and when out and played with? In my case a buddy loaned me a an avair and a dx shark to use but I still wanted my own so I bought a dx beast. I went to a park (non disc golf park) because I was embarrassed to throw in front of other people without my friends around. I remember it was raining a bit but it didn't bother me. It sucked because I was only throwing the beast and I remember alot of crumby shots and having to run back and fourth to grab it so I could throw it agian.

Just a random noob story:)

What are some of your first purchases?

Innova Aero....back when I bought it, it was advertised as a driver. Now it's labeled putt & approach. Amazing to see the advances made over the years. The game has surely changed.

First one I bought was a Lightning #1 Driver. Still have that thing in a box...wonder how it flies now.

My friend loaned me a JLS for my first round. I went out and bought, and I'm not making this up, a DX Cheetah, a grid stamped Aviar and an X XL.

Innova 150 class 3 disc starter set.

Cheetah, Shark, and an Aviar. I'm pretty sure I lost the Shark a long time ago at Idlewild, not long after the course opened. The Cheetah is in the lake at AJ Jolley hole #2. The Aviar sits in practice basket in the garage.

Fairly certain my first round was played with a cobra I was borrowing. I bought a used DX Viper and a polecat the next day.

I was given a champ orc and a super beat in dx XD by a buddy. I quickly picked up a DX started box from innova with a leopard, Aviar and Shark, and also added a dx beast and dx Valkyrie to the mix.

I first tried to RHBH the orc when I first threw and it maybe went 75ft before crashing to the ground. I then tried a flick and sent the orc out 250ft and was sold on the game. Its amazing what a persons first nice throw will do.

DX Gator I think it was
it didn't go well

I think I actually managed to throw it backwards once

When I first started I borrowed my dad's old SM roc, softie putter, and a couple drivers that I don't remember... and my friend gave me a 12x firebird (I started RHFH drives and mostly BH mids/putts).

First purchase came soon after with a 11x eagle, champ destroyer, champ banshee, and a kc pro aviar.

Oh the days when the bag was very simple.

I only started a couple months ago. I went to the only store in town that sells discs and asked what I should get. The guy working there (who seemed to know what he was talking about, as he said he played every day) sold me a DX Aviar, DX Leopard, and a Champion Destroyer. I guess he didn't know what he was talking about. The Destroyer is still mostly useless to me.

dx spider which was actually a good disc for me starting out.
and a dx wraith. looking back not the best option but it beat in quick and i had to learn to control it.

I also got a wraith early and refused to listen to anyone when they said I could not throw it properly. I thought 230 feet for a wraith was good.

champion starter pack. 150 valkyrie, 167 panther, 167 aviar

lost the panther and gave away the aviar. still have the valk hanging on the wall

thanks, it was a good story

I had the starter set of leopard and shark and avair but then i bought a wolf. I ended up giving them to my dad when I got better and he loved them

dx aviar and a champion firebird

I use the aviar when I want to practice on my basket at home, and I took the firebird out a couple of weeks ago.
