sorry, these winter shots look miserable

It is only a miserable day if you have to spend more than 30 seconds looking for a disc buried in the snow.

In all honesty, after the initial blast of cold air in November and early December, once the body becomes acclimated to the colder temperatures and your temperament just accepts that it is cold because winter is going to be around for months, then it is not that bad as long as again you are not searching for discs.

at least yours had a blue sky. i used to live in the northeast, i remember the months of grey skies and how i dreaded it.

I agree with you about the grey skies bit. Luckily, around here, it's pretty rare for there to be more than a week of grey skies. I'm glad it was overcast for my round today. Under blue skies, that ice would have been blinding.

This season was the first time that I got to play in snow and today, ice. I've had a blast for those rounds. Just can't take it too seriously. Now what really sucks is playing a round when the tornado sirens are going off. I'll take a snow/ice round over that any day.

The one and only day about three weeks ago, so of course I needed a picture. I have not seen the sun since. Technically I have because we had some days where the cloud cover was thinning and you could see the outline of the sun, but otherwise it has been grey for awhile.

Why I was throwing my Star Gazelle today, I am not sure - since I only have two of them - and I really wish the sun could have come out because looking for those tiny tell-tale marks in the snow is difficult in muted daylight. Thankfully I found it by accidentally stepping on it. I have since put the DX Gazelles back in the bag. Those I am willing to walk away from after a few minutes.

I like winter pictures of Disc Golf when the snow is textured. I also like that visibility can go for miles now that leaves are gone. I think that the best pictures always have something else going on it besides disc golf; some object that tells a different story. As long as it is not overpowering what is really happening - disc golf.

Below are not great examples of what I am talking about, regardless, they are examples of why it is better to play in the winter than not at all.

Here is more of what I am talking about in regards to having a little something extra in the picture. Someone on the previous page had a picture of something red hanging in the tree. I think that was a great picture as well.
