I had a "ah ha!" moment today.

I've been struggling putting,as everyone does every now and then.My Wizards haven't been putting like I would want them to and decided to putt with my ESP Zone today just for fun.I've been hitting my putts with more accuracy and I didn't miss to the right today(My problem with my Wizards right now).

I'm a Spin putter and the Zone is sweet for spin putting.Even when I hit the left side of the chains it would spin itself back in.Even one knee and straddle putts are easier with the Zone.I know I've only used it for a few days, but I'm really starting to like using a Zone as my main putter.

I'm going to be making a purchase of 2 Pro D Zones here in the next few days and see where this new putter takes me.

Anyone else have success using a Zone as their main putter?

Its my windy day putter, but today i putted with it all day long. Float it up to the right and watch it crash the chains. It was more predictable because of the fade on that thing. If I wasn't committed to the pure i would give this thing a true shot. But it will sit there for windy days and approaches. For a overstable approach putter it is surprisingly straight with a fade late. Diggind the prod zone off the tee. Great shallow compliment to the pure.

Lots of people putt with the zone. In fact there are lots of recent threads about people loving the zone. I am lazier than you and will leave it at that.

The zone is a great overstable putter, but I developed bad habits by putting with only highly overstable putters

Yeah I enjoy the ESP Zone as a Driver as well. It's my short range utility disc and it gets used quite a bit when the tee's are in A position.

I was curious whether or not it would be good in the wind, since it didn't have a bead I wasn't sure. Thanks for that bit of info.

The funny thing about today is I've only used my Zone as a Driver.I never even thought twice about using it as a putter, but today for some reason I chose it over my Vodoo's and Magics for something to mess with.I'm glad I did.

I don't think this is quite an "ah ha! moment". Zones are great discs, but a simple equipment change isn't going to fix your crappy putting. The Zone is also a bit too overstable for everyday use as a main putter. You really have to compensate for the fade a ridiculous amount with your angle and speed the farther away from the basket you get. They also nearly always land on edge when you miss a putt, require a lot of speed to fly straightish, and have a very driver-like profile, all of which leads to lots of extra action like rollaways and weird sliding on misses, especially on hilly or hard terrain.

The true lesson to learn here is that you just need to practice putting more. I do recommend picking up some Pro D Zones though. They're nice discs and beat in fairly well.

I don't know man.I was hitting some pretty far putts today with them. The putter is just so predictable for me.I can put the thing on a b-line straight to the basket.

Since I Spin putt this disc works great so far.I'm not going to get too exicted yet as I've only used it for a few rounds and some practice putting.I think getting those Pro D Zones and the added grip will be great. It will keep me from having to lick my fingers evertime.ESP Plastic is bad about that.

I will keep practicing putting as I have done for years.I have a feeling getting these Pro D Zones will make my putting practice a more enjoyable experience.

I have only ever had ONE Zone, and it was an Orange/Red CryZtal Sparkle and when I got it, I musta hit my first 20+ putts in a row with it on my practice basket from distances from 15-25 Ft, it was just so money, it had the craziest GRIPIEST texture to it that would just eat the chains up. I was putting with a Champ Rhyno at the time ( still do sometimes, but am switching slowly to my eclipse Soft anode) and thought the Rhyno was in trouble.

I only sold it because I really really needed the money, and now regret both the price I got for it, and selling it in general

Best putter ever!............ if the wind is 20+ MPH. It requires too much snap to stay straight. A beat pro d might serve.

I don't use it all the time but I keep a sparkle z in the bag. Its an amazing disc. Just not for putting. Imo

You let me know if you ever want to let another CSZ go :( ;)

Bingo. Might as well putt with a Firebird.
