3. The horizontal divider velcro is kind of weird. I usually put dividers closer to the middle to even out the disc weight side to side, creating a section on the left for drivers and a section on the right for mids/putters, leaving a 3-4 inch gap in the middle for assorted stuff like a bag of sunflower seeds and/or a sweat towel. The two rows of velcro across each of the front and back mean that only a couple tiny sections of the divider velcro are actually doing anything. If you sewed a large patch of full height velcro that took up say, the middle 1/3rd or a bit more instead of the strips then you'd get better velcro-ing hold.
After using a Shift for a while, I decided to get a Rebel as a tourney bag, mostly for the extra storage. Similarly, I carry 15-18 discs and I wasn't really interested in carrying that many more discs than usual. One of the reasons I chose the Rebel was that it's one of the few backpack bags that actually has dividers for the discs. In the other bags, you need to carry a certain amount discs in order for them to stand upright. Plus, after using the Shift I've really grown fond of having my discs partitioned by category.
That being said, while I'm glad UPD included the feature, I agree that the dividers could be improved. The velcro works most of the time, but it can come loose with the flexing motion of walking, setting it on the ground, putting it on, etc. When the velcro does come loose on me, it's usually just one corner of the divider, so the discs stay in their partition, but just flop over. More velcro, or possibly triangular shaped dividers (so they'd be taller in the back) would probably help.
But yeah, I'm nitpicky with my bags too, and I could find something to nitpick on any bag. I've been really pleased with both of my UPD bags though, and will gladly buy another if and when I need to.
