I don't know if DGP.TV aired any of the distance showcase, but I had a great viewing spot on the deck right above the throwers.

Let me just say this : as impressive as Wiggins' distance throws are in the various youtube videos I've seen, it's far more astonishing in person. The kid is simply inhuman! I think it was his 1st or 2nd shot where he started jumping and pointing in the air after he let go, that ended up like 60 feet across the road.

I was also extremely surprised by Nikko's distance. In terms of regular golf shots he may not have the distance of a Schusterick or McBeth, but when he's able to go 360, he can really let it rip.

Red Pro Bosses and yellow pop top Star Katanas.

Big Jerm was ready to go with a stack of Prodigy drivers (D3 or D4, I forget), but was told he had to use what they brought out. Everyone was throwing the Bosses and Katanas.

Interesting, that's a new move forcing everyone to throw Innova. Last year Jerm was throwing Nukes.

The grass is always greener on the other side of the ropes...no really it is. Can we go back to talking about Crazy muttering Fffff*****ccccckkkkk under his breath on the live broadcast?

Exactly! Stupid par and payout talk! I'd rather watch C-Span!

Weak. I get that it's their event and all, but that's still a jackhole move.

yeah i saw phil take jerm a big stack of d3 and then someone told me no he wasnt throwing those and i was like yeah im pretty sure he was i saw phil hand him a stack .. ... some of those throws where just insane.. wiggy blew my mind

I missed the last three holes Saturday (real life crept in) and am watching them now. Unreal that Will hit the same tree twice on 17. I definitely want to get out there in person next year.

It's not really a new move. They've often limited the showcase to Innova discs, and they do it mainly so they're not asking players to throw their own discs over or possibly into the lake.

In the years I've attended, after the showcase "competition" was over, players took to throwing whatever they wanted, including their own discs. I remember Garrett Gurthie being sponsored by Gateway at the time but having to throw Wraiths in "competition". He then broke out the Speed Demons and Illusions or whatever he normally used for a few extra throws afterward.

If you have a sidearm and are going to bail out, I fail to see why you would throw an anny back hand. If anything happens it is going to fade out into the water. Sidearm goes out and finishes parallel to the water. Much safer layup.

I think in the past Will has putted to the end of the tee area then thrown the remaining 150'.

The sidearm can be a little tougher to range properly. And from 250' out, that green is a pretty small target to hit.

Sidearm is way easier on that hole than a backhand. I don't have much of a sidearm game, and throwing sidearm now hurts my hand really bad because of the injury, but I still resorted to throwing sidearm on 17.

That being said, the putter anny is not a bad shot. I hit the same tree Will hit one time throwing backhand and it's a pretty common mistake. Sometimes you just get so focused on the anhyzer shot you forget to actually throw it forward and end up crashing the tree. To do it twice in a row is pretty silly though.

I honestly thought I was going nuts. So this was actually there?

Thats what it sounded like to me. The breathing into the mic was pretty awesome too.
