New PDGA Website

Steve Ganz is the man.

We are so lucky to have this guy.

Good job Steve, however, there is alot of historical knowledge in those discussion boards that seems to be gone. Especially in the rules section. Lots of good discussions and explanations about the rules. In the narrow context of increasing knowledge of the rules this isn't a step forward. In many many areas, it is a big step forward.

Revamped Discussion Board will be back in a week or two according to Steve. When you see official results without ratings, it happens after a report deadline (Oct 29th) for the next ratings update (Nov 19th) when the TD did not upload unofficial results but submitted the report by the deadline, and the PDGA has done the preliminary official results upload prior to passing it to the ratings team to do the ratings calculations.

Discussion board back soon, outstanding

As always thanks for the good info. Chuck. Glad to hear the discussion board is not going away.

The one item I'm noticing that appears to be gone (and not just in the works, like the forums) is the ability to see who is a propagator from the event results. Previously, event propagators had their ratings in bold, and even non-current-members had a mouseover tooltip labeling them as propagators.

It's a very minor change, and probably only of interest to the few players out there interested in the inner workings of the ratings system, but it's still too bad to see it gone.

Yeah, I noticed that too.

Other than the forum missing, I have not experienced any of the problems you mention. Players search works perfectly all morning and everything else has been super fast. Maybe something just happened, but it's been a very positive experience all morning.

Now we know who didn't read all the other posts on here :D

It's pretty sluggish for me but I'm sure the site is getting hammered at this point with people going to check out the redesign. Of course, now that I just said that it's loading a blank page. I did get to see it earlier though and it looks much nicer than the old site.

ya thats a waste of time. half the post in any thread are worthless. kind of like the quoted one above me and the one I am writing now.

Server down! Hopefully, they can do a better job than the government at making web sites, but that isn't very hard.

If at first you don't succeed...

Well I sure missed that 25 footer for the win.

We launched a brand new website this morning and for awhile things were looking good, but as the day went on, we started to discover problems that we just wouldn't be able to repair in a reasonable amount of time. So, we're back at the old website. For now. We'll regroup and try again in the next week.

I want to personally apologize for the inconvenience that this may have caused. Next time I'll sink the putt.

PDGA Technology Director

Well it was cool while it lasted.
