Can't tell if this is an april fools joke or not. But, seeing as how I'm waiting for Grips to restock, they've got my attention...

Wondering if this is their own bag, or a Discmania-branded Flak like Millennium did.

Looks legit, considering the date of release.

If it's just another rebranding of a Flak, then they deserve some flak for doing so. At least incorporate a design change of some sort to make it your own...

I just saw this, it looks interesting, but if it's just a rebranding of a flak, I agree with Bogeynomore. Where is the originality?

Yeah, I totally forgot about the flak honestly. That'd be a huge letdown if they just hyped up a rebranding of the flak.

If there's a problem I have with the Flak, (aside from its price), its the butt ugly colors it comes in. Even if this is a rebranding, maybe the color choices will make it a little easier on the eyes.

If it's not an April fools joke, I'd bet on a rebranded Grip bag. Releasing in a week with no "test run" sightings? Simon and Avery were carrying their Grips for the Deep in the Game tour. You'd think they would have a proto or something if it were a new design. Something to build hype - not just a vague, 1 week prior announcement.

I would throw my hat in as well as it does look similar in shape with the rain fly on.

That'd be pretty awesome. I will continue to live in this fantasy until they announce otherwise.

Another note that might support the bag at least not being a flak is, unless they tweaked the design, the flak's handle is still visible with the rain fly on.

The reason I hypothesized the Flak is because of the Innova/Millennium/Discmania family tree. But yes, this looks much more like a Grip. Not sure why Grip would need to do this, other than to get a little extra dough, but if it is a DM Grip I think DM fans will be quite pleased.

The rationale side of me agrees with you, assuming it's a rebranding, that it's probably a Flak.

The side of me that's been waiting for black/gray grips is hoping to high heaven it's a rebranded grip.

What they should have done is hype it up for what seemed like two years and then ship it over in a rusted out tanker ship as slowly as possible.

You guys can't have all missed the link. Discmania was created by Jussi and the European headquarters is in Finland. What else is in Finland? Prodiscus. What backpack has a very, VERY limited stamp over here in the states? Prodiscus. Too many people jumped to the Discmania -- Innova -- Millennium ties to see the geographical ties. My guess is Discmania is using its American distribution power to bring the Prodiscus backpack overseas in force.

I like your thinking on this! I think that would be an awesome link up for the two companies. Though I can't say I have seen the pro 20 bag with a rain fly on though. Anyone have a picture?

Can't see it, not with a company that's making its own discs at least.

If you do end up being right, I owe you a beer.
