[Innova] Thunderbird

I am pumped for the Pro Thunderbird. I suspect when it develops a decent turn coupled with pro plastic it might be a surprise bomber.

I honestly haven't been very excited about a disc being released in pro for a very long time. This on the other hand is the exact opposite. I wants me some pro thunderbird love for sure.

Yup. I haven't bagged a pro anything in years but I'm anticipating this making the bag. I hope they are available in white... Do we know when the actual release is ?

Honestly, the star thunderbird I have is an absolute turd. It flies quite honestly almost exactly like my pfn Star Firebird after about a half years use. As a matter of fact with where my Firebird is now, it's longer and a little less stable than the thunderbird in a stiff wind. And, I can actually get a decent grIp on the firebird. I was not happy at all when I opened the package on that thunderbird let me tell you. I guess I have to find another new champ I like.

I got an old PFN Champ FB that is straighter then my Star Thunderbird. The Star Thunderbird is not a good disc.

I hope this is good Pro plastic though, I've had some before that would warp easy and not be able to bend back into shape. Medium flex and grippy please!

I have a brand new pfn pro starfire sitting here. If they can reproduce this plastic in a Thunderbird I will probably buy 5 or 6 and start my first cycle. Was going to try DX, but, I like good pro better buy far.

I too am very excited about the Pro thunderbird. Purple DX thunderbirds were my favorite disc last fall. Dropped everything faster, as they were so controllable. Reminded me of the flight of old Pearly Orcs. I have found a few swirly Pro Destroyers recently that were a little stiffer than the gummy pro runs of Wraiths and Destroyers I have found recently. Hoping that there are some Thunderbirds that come out like this.

I'm on board the pro thundy excitement train. Fingers crossed it's good pro plastic and the rpro feeling stuff.

Should be in the next few days. I pre-ordered 5 of pro thunders in hopes of them being better than the Star(not digging this one). Keeping fingers crossed that the pro plastic will be like the old PFN Pro Wraiths that lasted forever. Loved those things.

I have recently started bagging a Champion and a GStar Thunderbird. I am really liking them and I would like to hop on the pro hype train (if there is any room!)

Did a little field work this morning with Thunderbirds, PDs and New run Sexton firebirds. Just was interested, and wanted to check flights.
Used the UDisc app for distances.
Here's my findings... (All in anticipation of Pro Thunderbirds being released)
DX Thunderbird ranged from 330-380 ft. Pretty good HSS, but one turned more than I was expecting.
Champ Thunderbirds (both max weight, and considerably domier than the two Dx) showed considerable turn and dumpy fade. One barely went 300ft. One went 370. Didn't finish how I was expecting after 10 tosses with the DXs. Range over 10 throws averaged about 350 with no wind.
Threw a bunch of PD shots. Have to admit, I am way more familiar with their flight, and my PDs I had to choose from were much more seasoned.
PPDs were the longest throws of the day. Hit 400 a few times, averaged 380.
SPDs had considerably more HSS and averaged 360.
Had one AJ clear CPD max weight, and the flight was dumpy like the domey Champ thunderbirds. Not much distance out of it. Didn't even bother walking it off.
Sexton Firebirds felt nothing like any of the other test discs. Slight dome, same wing, but very different top. Suprisingly not much HSS, and flew a mile. Hitting same lines as seasoned PPds. Ranged from 350-400.

So. Sorry for the long post, just thought I would share my findings. Wish I had time to throw a test of all of them FH. Wish I also had 1.1 run OLFs. But I only had one OLF and it was the domey Metal flake 1.3. Not worth chucking.
Now, really looking forward to the Pro Thunderbird. Hoping it molds up like a mix between a PPd, and DX thunderbird.

Are the lighter weights a little flatter.? Might just be the Champ Thunderbirds I have. But they have considerably more dome and turn than my older PDs that I love.

Been waiting for those pro thundys for a minute, but i dont know what I'd use them for. Cycling dx's is pretty fun and the grip/stiffness on those babies are excellent. Yall think the new pros are going to be worth it? Maybe ill carry 1 pro along with my 2 dx's.

Yeah I love the feel of my DX and it's beefy as hell. Plus, everything else in my bag is premium plastic. I like having a DX disc in there as sort of a tribute to the old timers.

I like the DX Thunderbirds, too. You could try out a Pro and see how you like it, then either bag it, sell it, or pay it forward.

I bought and threw a new Pro Thunderbird today 175 pink, I only got a couple throws in so far but can tell for sure I'm going to like it. They are GUMMY, almost like GStar flex, so some may not like that. I can deal, would have preferred a hair more stiffness. Oh well. Less Stable then Champ or Star for sure. I threw a couple 340-350 shots, one anny which held most of the way and another flat which held straight then drifted left.

Also, small shoulder, mini pop top from the edge and flatter top. Most seemed this way also. Overall pretty happy with it.
