Looking for Ideas to Jazz Up League CTP's

I know I have read a couple ideas in here before about new CTP ideas, but I figured I'd see if anybody has came up with any new ideas.

Sometimes our league has a tough time finding a legit CTP prize. I'm sure the same discs have been used as the same CTP prize a couple times.

Does anyone have any suggustions on how to jazz up CTP prizes? I think sometimes towels/discs aren't necessarily the best options, especially for seasoned players. The vast majority of people who play in this league have been playing for at least a couple/few years now.

Thanks in advance!!

Gift certificates for local eateries/bars... Or even a local disc shop so that person can choose a disc they actually would use.

Cash ctp's are pretty good.

This. Put 50 cents to a dollar from every entry into a cash CTP. Make sure there is a string on the hole to measure, because people become a lot more serious when actual money is involved. Also it should be a hole that everyone has a chance of reaching.

OP are you talking about an actual league or a weekly dubs night? At a couple of our local dubs nights, they charge an extra $1 for one mulligan for each partner, then that money is given out as a CTP prize.

Beer mugs, socks, glow accessories, suntan lotion, small scoring clip boards, disc storage boxes

At all the dubs leagues around me, they do a cash CTP that you can buy into; I never hit it so I usually never bother paying in, which is a nice option.

In my weekly singles league I do a $3 entry fee. $1 goes to ace fund, $1 goes to payouts based on scores, and $1 goes to the CTP. After the round is over while I am doing scores we have the CTP throw off on a hole or an up-shot that is fair for all players. Winner of the CTP takes the CTP entry fee cash for that week. If we get more than 20 people I do 2 CTPs. The big winner each week is the CTP winner, not the 1st place score. This seems to keep everyone happy, as everyone has a chance to win the big prize each week.

Food. We've had players that have worked at bakeries or grocery stores and they were able to bring in a pie or some fresh baked bread and we give them away as ctps.

Thanks for all the great responses!!

Its a weekly doubles league. We alternate between 4 courses each week. 2 courses are beginner friendly courses and 2 courses are intermediate/advanced courses. On a nice day, we typically have 20-30 and often times we have a seperate women's divisions if 6 or more show. Also this league is in the StL Metro East area. There certainly is no shortage of great local eateries around the area. Fast Eddies is actually in town. I also want to throw out that I don't run this league. However, I don't mind helping out and donating prizes.

Bug spray or umbrella. The two things that I need the most, but don't normally carry.

Cash is king in my experience. When I used to run doubles leagues, it was always $5 entry, plus optional $1 fees for CTP and ace fund. Cash payout to the CTP. If I got 20+ participants, I would split the CTP money across 2 holes. Every once in a while we would offer up a free disc as a 2nd or 3rd CTP to keep things interesting.

Alton Chain Bangerz. We actually have league tonight at Kutter Park. $5 a man, random draw doubles!

Bug Spray and Umbrella.. Great idea! Bugs are definitely a problem around here.

I agree, cash is certainly king. But, one of the courses we play was installed just over a year ago. I think one of the club's main goals is to use money raised from league nights to help improve this particular course. It needs some bridges and tee pads. The course has some potential to be at least close to a 4 star rating with bridges, tee pads, and multiple pin placements.

I run a league at hiestand park and last year one of my regulars asked if we could call the league piestand and give away pies as prizes. I told him I'm not donating a pie every week but not opposed. He brought a pie and pretty much every week after somebody donated a pie.

Something that I've always wanted to try, but haven't, was to have a carry-over ctp prize (a really good or expensive prize or carry-over cash). The trick is to win 2 ctp's. In other words, the first player to win 2 ctp's over consecutive weeks wins the prize.

Everyone puts their pants on the line. Winner takes all. Pants CTP will be revolutionary! Additionally, CTP winner can really rake it in by selling everyone else their pants back.
