Saw this on DGR. Says they are $40 shipped but will be limited quantity until they ramp up full production.

Has a little pouch on the back which basically contains a bag poncho.

I would definitely like to see how the poncho works and whether or not its easy to get into but I like where they are going with it.

I like there idea as far as getting into that market, but for me, all of it is just too much. I got big enough luggage on the front of me to want to double down and make the back look like my front.

That looks like a fantastic idea, especially since most bags don't have any kind of real rain cover. I might have to make myself something like that to put on my quads, could come in handy when spring rolls around and I end up playing in rain a lot.

Oh sure....do this after I got army straps for my fade crunch. If I knew they were going to have matching straps I would have waited. Oh well.

I guess some companies will have to understand...if you snooze you lose. I'm sure these will sell, but so many people that own fade bags have already picked up other alternatives because there wasn't a FADE option to go with before.

Also, a reason FADE has stayed so competitive is due to their pricing. Releasing these at $40 doesn't give anyone any incentive to purchase these compared to Phenix or other brands. I bought a FADE bag because it was so much less money than the competition, the same reason I settled for army straps... Even a $30 price point will net them tons of more business.

Oh, come on now. ;)

We'll buy 'em, regardless of what we already have. That's like saying, "I have all the discs I need."

Heck, I could buy them AND another big bag (Fade so it matches, of course) and have a setup just for rainy days, with grippier discs, extra towels, etc.

To be fair they are $35 plus shipping so DGC and others will probably have them at 30-35.

I'm not rich, so buying more bags/ straps is not an option. More discs = more shot selection, more straps = me not using my old ones....

If they go for $30, that will help them sell for sure.

it would be nice if they sold the poncho option seperate. maybe $10-15 and have it hook on your straps. i'm sure it would be pretty easy to make and have fit for phenix, innova, fade straps

I'll probably end up with a hukbrella instead and my bag has a rain flap...Still a very nice idea though. And I do need some quadshocks, but I'm going to wait through the winter to add those to my gear.

That wouldn't be to smart on their part though. Just means that more people don't have to buy their back straps to have the pancho. Where as if someone really needed a form of rain protection for their bag and found this they may think to ditch their current back straps or actually buy a pair of back straps.

If you are choosing Fade straps over Phenix because of a poncho you would have issues.

If you choose inferior straps over the best, just because the inferior straps have a poncho, you will be in the minority.

Fade straps won't be able to compete with quad shocks, even with the poncho.

nobody is going to buy a second pair of straps to get poncho straps, so the only eligible people for the straps would be people currently without them.

If they sold just the poncho, their potential custumers would be every DG'er that currently has straps, and the same market of people that currently don't have straps but will be getting them.

Simple economics shows that poncho only is a much better idea

There are still people out there who don't have back straps and would possibly pick these over the phenix no matter if someone says "they're the best" or not. I've seen people with innova straps out on the course. I mean heck people here use army surplus straps. Which shows plenty of people don't want to spend 40-45 bucks on some straps(plus shipping unless that's free). Sure "phenix is the best" I hear it all the time and will probably pick up a pair, but I also hear Revo carolina bags are the best and me and plenty others aren't out on the course with those. So simply put just because it's "the best" doesn't mean everyone wants those over something else.

The poncho looks stupid, and I own a Fade bag.

$35 for poncho straps, $40 for quad shocks. Save $5 and have a poncho for the times you play when it rains, while having an extra uneeded accessory the other 95% of the time.

I would, like i'm sure most people, would prefer to only have the poncho when it is needed

I like how they are automatically worse than quads even though you dont have them nor have ever worn them.

At least give the GD things a chance to suck or shine before drawing that conclusion.

I'd have to agree...Only thing bad about it is you probably will have an umbrell that hopefully is large enough to cover you plus the bag. If not then this idea seems pretty awesome, but if it's an unexpected rain, maybe not which would make this pretty nice to have all the time.
