2017 Beaver State Fling - Amateur Lottery is now open.

They also mention she missed a 10 footer because she had to pee, which I thought was a really weird thing to say in a DG videos commentary.

Yeah apparently women talk about things like that...it was a bit odd.

Oh gawd, that's why I keep missing putts.

It also suggests I have something in common with one of the top players in the world. Must be similar skill sets.

There was quite a bit of chatter about McBeth's potty break at the Memorial.

If memory serves me correctly, JohnE McCray's rant about it was part of the reason for the chatter. Just sayin', is all.

Another point of interest: for a while, Cat was playing with the men, sometimes as the only woman entered in the tournament. She hasn't done much of that lately, that I'm aware of, which causes me to continue to wonder if she's had an injury or something...

You must have missed the thread on distance and volume. :D

To everyone whom I've now offended, sorry...

I believe she has only done that (played with the men) when there were no other FPO women to play against anyway. More specifically, she did it often at DGWT events where there was no women's division offered at all. Now there is a women's division offered at those events (except USDGC), and it's rare to find NT/A-tier/DGPT events without some kind of an FPO field, there's little incentive or reason for Cat or any other woman to play MPO.

Didn't she primarily play in MPO due to the DGPT not having a womens field in 2016? She did play in I think 1 that didn't have any FPO entries that weren't DGPT.

That is mostly correct, but I thought there was a tourney here and there that was not DGWT where she happened to be the only woman playing, or she played in a man's division anyway.

And that also brings up a point made earlier: I've heard off and on for a while now that Cat is not popular with the other women on tour. And this isn't just recent months but at least a couple of years. Some say Cat is just intense on the course (as is Ricky), but some say there is some geniune animosity between her and others. In the Utah Open, Cat was complaining about a call made against her that she didn't agree with, and she implied that those kind of calls on her were par-for-the-course (pun not intended).

One thing that might be happening: at Worlds last year, Cat, who chafes at only having one world title while other women have three or more, was in the lead until that Final 9. We all remember Paige giving Val the congratulatory hug, and the applause by the gallery for the good sportsmanship. At the end of that, as Val and family celebrated her win, Terry Miller made a comment along the lines of "Cat just can't believe it", or some such.

Soooo, one wonders if Cat has just never recovered from losing that Worlds. Me, I think it's more than that (physical injury, other things in her life), and I hope Cat gets things right and becomes competitive again, or at least finds personal happiness...

Not sure if should've posted in the Tourney Videos thread, but seeing as none of the Jomez BSF videoes are posted there, figured this might be the better spot. Very cool to hear Madison and Paige on commentary (FPOs to comment on FPOs is ideal), but curious, anybody else have trouble differentiating which one of them is talking at which point? To me they sound very, very similar. Maybe it's 'cos haven't heard them talk as much as say Utah Open Big Uli commentary, where there was no trouble telling Jerm and Uli apart.

I recall when Cat was losing early on she blamed it on her extensive yoga training saying her muscles were stronger and made a difference in her delivery but that she would adjust in time and return even better. Doesn't seem to be the case. Maybe the frustration of a failed experiment is causing it to be worse.

I'm curious, has cats rating dropped? Is it that she's come down or that other players have I!proved? Just curious.

I don't know about her rating, and Paige has just exploded this year (in a good way), but Cat is not doing as well as she has done in the past. As an example: after Paige had to leave the Utah Open, Cat couldn't close the deal and win that tournament. Not saying that to disparage Jessica Weese, who played well, but the Cat of last year would've won that going away.

There was a blunt post addressing trolls that Paige mentioned that when she was with prodigy she just didn't have fairway drivers to throw and only 1 distance driver.

She attests her spike and great play to the disc selection she has available to her now.

I can't find the post now.

So who called the warning on Jessica Weese on jomez pro round 2 part 2 10:25? Pretty wack

Dunno... Cat was smoking the courses like cheap cigars last year with those same Prodigy discs...

IMHO, Paige's gains came from a year of DD discs under her belt and getting to know them, some good physical training, and being a lot happier with her new friends at DD.
