Things that DGers do, but Why???

I always find the male female discussions interesting. I work in a company where the manager ranks are dominated by women. The notion that they can't do the following:

1. Get their opinion heard
2. Stand up to any male - me included
3. Be less than polite
4. Play politics as well as anyone
5. Hand you your backside in a debate
6. Run any department, either well or really poorly

always amazes me.

The notion that men do the following in all cases:

1. Dominate women in family situations
2. Dominate women in social situations
3. Dominate women in business situations
4. Can't keep their mouths shut (out of politeness or social norms)
5. Have no manners when it comes to dealing with women (unless they're trying to get a date)

always amazes me.

None of this is a substitute for the notion that when the rules are really broken, that is abuse occurs, that it is men doing the abusing.

As an aside, Nova P and Discette, the two female posters who come here with some frequency, don't seem to have any trouble holding their own in this male dominated venue.

Also, I find it interesting that when a person is treated, oh lets call it less politely, by someone of the opposite sex, whether they be male or female, they tend to judge everyone of the opposite sex by that milestone.

I have a suspicion that the male notion that we need to fix the situation and defend women is a rather subtle version of sexism. Polite, but still.

how good is your fh? Ive practiced only forehand for years, I got a pretty good 300ft fh...
man I sound like a chucker, well kinda was because they influenced me years ago

Dire, if you can't kick my buttox, forehand, backhand, sideways, or backwards, I'd be truly shocked. The beauty of knowing really young guys is that someday I get to see them on YouTub.

People who won't carry water. Beer, yes. Water, no. Never will understand. I carry 40oz in warm weather. Sometimes only 20 in cooler. But I carry water.

Part of playing an individual sport played in groups is that everyone does the basics to not put another person in the group in a dangerous/emergency situation. Watch where you throw. Keep yourself in playing condition during the round. Look out for one another. It's not hard.

For years? How many are we talking? Aren't you only 15 or 16?

and oppression like that prevents "females" from frolfing

or they get hit on from the start and sexualized

"omf a female that dg she must be so wonderful and perfect"

I think its more like, "There must be something wrong with her, I might have a chance!"

Putting with two discs in hand.

When watching tournament videos, I sometimes finding myself wondering if putting with a disc I need the off-hand should be banned. It would seem a skill to know what to do with your off hand to facilitate your putt and the off-disc seems to be, at times, an artificial aid for disc angle.

I don't really care that much, but I just find myself wondering.

People who think, that just because another person hasn't been playing as long as they have, that they cant possibly have something to offer that might help improve their game...smh

We have issues locally lately where a few of the top players, who never volunteer to help in course/tournament/event work are making high demands from the people who do do the work.
They think because they are top in the region they have the right to demand such things while all they do is show up and play golf.

I help.

This was not always the case. I've worked (forumed?) my butt off to get cred around here, and I put up with a lot of guff from some annoying edgelords back in the day.

Think that they gotta throw a very OS driver for FH all the time... personally I have more success throwing the same discs I throw BH (Truth, Undertaker, Trespass) and slowing the FH mechanics down. Just me.

Something I do that bugs me is analyze the people I throw with. Usually just my friends. But I know their bags well. When they reach for Disc A for hole X, I will think to myself when it goes poorly "should have gone with Disc B, bruh..." although, sure, I'm 'better' than some of my friends, I don't like being a coach when I play MA1/2.... I do offer "advice" when invited to do so.

I love throwing laser-straight forehands with FDs. "Gosh Nova P, why for do you disc no dump and skip right like my Felon do?"

^ I mean, don't get me wrong, the OS stuff does come out when needed... for skips, out of trouble flexes, headwinds... but it ain't needed every time a hole goes to the right...

I run a ski area, this is my whole life. Everybody's an expert and nobody has any idea how hard it is to actually do what they want in real life, all they know is that they want something and they're special because X, Y and Z.

840-rated players with pre drive and putt rituals that don't really seem to help them at all and just waste time. Some of these guys I like and respect alot as people but drive me nuts to play golf with. I like to keep a steady pace, and playing with these guys sometimes determine whether I will get in the 2nd round I also wanted to play. A two hour round quickly becomes 3 and a half. :wall:
