2019 Pros Switching Sponsors Official Thread

You are literally completely wrong on this. Levi Morgan, probably the greatest 3D Archer ever, after winning 6 straight ASA Championships, switch from Matthews to Elite Archery, and then continued to win Championships and Shooter of the Year titles, and then this year switched back to Matthews and, wow, won again.

As a matter of fact, the company that owns Elite (The Outdoor group) also had all of his accessory manufactures, release, sight, rest, etc. So when he left them, he had to leave all of that behind too. The only consistent thing was his arrows, and him.

People throwing out $1M but actually, wouldn't $100K be an extraordinary amount as a sponsorship for a GREAT disc golfer? Add bonuses, commissions, other sponsors, plus winnings. Where does the $1M speculation come from?

As soon as he gets his first win, with discraft the sales will go up. DGCR and particularly the people in this thread represent such a small minority of the golfers out there. I think the majority of newer players are not entrenched in years and years of throwing Innova or that being the only show in town. They throw want to throw what the pros throw, whether that's the best choice or not, who knows? So I think there are a lot of people that throw Destroyers, Thunderbirds and Firebirds because that's what McBeth bagged.

If Discraft has extra money from the ultimate side, it's pretty low risk for them. There's no way that their sales will go down by signing McBeth. Plus with Doss having a foot out the door, McBeth would pretty much be the sole face. Either way, excited to see what comes of it, can't wait for the 2019 ITB!!

He was making over 250k a year from Innova.

But we still don't know if it was the arrow or the archer

And look at what happened when Cam moved from Innova to Discraft.

They created the Wasp and Challenger.

Two iconic molds that have sold a ton.

While they didn't necessarily have Cam's name on them, his arrival helped create them.

So maybe Discraft finally comes out with the Teebird killer.

Boom, hundreds of thousands sold.

It's always been the archer, not the arrow. People who think McBeth will not be good because hes carrying different discs should probably revisit the starter pack challenge where he threw a ~1000 rated round woth 150 class dx discs.

Yeah, 150 class INNOVA discs. That's the key.

He's going to drop to like 980 rating with Discrap.

(Just kidding. I agree with you; he can still have great success. He has all winter to practice with Discraft molds and see what works for his game.)

Making note of discgolfcenter's current top 20 sellers... 19 are Innova and 1 is Discraft (Buzzz).

People keep repeating things similar to this, like McBeth wouldn't have known anything about their current sales prior to signing a contract.

After so long with one company. A lot of industry professionals across the spectrum of them would say. Why'd you stay so long?

That would be extraordinary. Hope it's true. Who would be in second place & how much? If it takes that much $$ to match an offer I wouldn't expect much movement from others unless there were personal or professional conflicts.
