Critters on the course you ran into...

It was about an hour before sunset at DR Disc Golf hole #9. I was just about to tee off when some movement caught my attention. Three deer came bounding out of the woods on my right about 100' up the fairway, and disappeared on the left back in the trees. I never realized how much ground they cover in a single bound.

Little love making on the tee sign

Great shot!

Looks like its straight out of National Geographic.

I knew the females ate their mate's head but I've never seen a picture of it. Wonder if that is the male's natural color or if he has been dead that long.

It would be weird to have your headless mate hanging out of your 'hoo-hoo' for a couple of days afterward. At least I would imagine!

They weren't from ISU and the weren't wild. I live in Boone, abut fifteen minutes from Ames, and there was a guy here in town that raised buffalo for meat so I'd seen them almost every day (on my way to and from home) for years, then he died and the family was no longer grandfathered in on the law so they had to get rid of them :(

This one isnt wild. There is an exotic animal sanctuary right next to the course & this one happen to get out...They have zebras, monkeys & apparently buffalo too...I've heard a monkey got out a few years ago.

That would be pretty cool. I'd love to be playing and then there's suddenly a zebra there.

I've played desert courses quite a few times in AZ and I've never come across a snake. I have seen coyotes and javelina though.

Last weekend I almost hit porcupine on hole 16 at Sunapee. It looked like a dark stump about 10' past the basket. Then my TL landed right next to the "stump" and it turned around and waddled off!
