    Holiday Hyzer

PDGA sanctioned C tier at Ottawa Park in Toledo, Dec 11th. Not sure if you've found the local website or not, www.tadga.com
We've got 3 weeklies going right now, all random draw dubs, one at Ottawa, one at Vienna, one at Parmalee. I've been toying with the idea of starting one at Carter, but probably won't happen until after the New Year. Hit me up if you wanna throw a round or 3 :D
Thanks . I use a plotter. I average between 10 - 15 discs a week right now, so the plotter comes in very handy.
Hey CF, I have enjoyed the read of some threads I've been given the links to. It is info overload, I usually have to read it several times, but I'm getting to the point where I need a few more tips like that. BTW, cool your fiance played at Am Worlds and got some tips firsthand from Val.

RE: Dyes, I have a couple of custom dyes friends have done for me. I'm not REAL into it. I was going to pay someone to do one for me and it was a little expensive plus the shipping. PM me with your rates!
Not a bad idea. There's definitely some different schools of thought concerning bag set-ups that people tend to gravitate towards whether they know or not, I've noticed that the folks that are the most messed up are the ones that have their bags set up with no rhyme or reason at all.
See, I felt that the summit still wanted to fade at the end of its flight more than my Aviar, which has a similar bead. They are brand spanking new, though, can't argue with that!!! My old Ridge had seen a ton of tree hits, too. I need to go throw them at a brick wall a la the durability video, and I'll be back up to speed :D.

Still miss my first ridge, even though I have 6 new ones... :(
I'll admit that my throw does not generate a ton of power, or snap, so I did not expect to see much difference between the different weights when throwing off the tee. But, the first day, it did seem that the 164 was a bit less HSS than my 169. Probably just a coincidence, or some off/on OAT.

But yeah, next year I'm really going to get on the practice. This winter should be putting practice, if I can be disciplined enough. I had been using a micro-bead Aviar, it was quite different to go from that to a Ridge. Almost made me want to bust out the Summits. But I know I'll learn to love the Ridge again (I better at least :p).
I just figured I would rather have a bunch of different weights in order to find one or two that I really liked above all the other ones. I had a coral-colored one that I lost about two months ago; and I really really wanted to get the exact same disc. I forgot the weight, so there you go.

I'm not so sure that I was looking to get more glide, just maybe different levels of stability. Initially, right now, these ones that I just got in seem a touch more overstable than the original one I had. But they are brand new... I have really only tried 4 out of the 10 seriously, and even then it was just in casual rounds. The cold weather makes field work very unattractive.

As far as dipped centers v. glide v. stability... I have no clue. I don't think any of mine are dipped at all, just flat. I will take another closer look at them. And like I said, I haven't really messed around with them too much yet. I think my 168 Ridge is going to beat in very, very nicely though. :)
    im always serious.:|

its slow, holds a line and lands flat. plus its got the nice shallow rim for greater control. its pretty much my go-to long mid.:)
I agree with you I found some of the multi-colored ones it looks nice on, some of the all one color ones were a little bland.
My knee has been acting up and we've been really busy lately so I haven't played in over a month. I probably won't get out until later next spring.
Yes, I do use a plotter, and I put the ring around them simple b/c it gives the disc a border and makes it some what different.
The E plastic ones I have are pretty overstable, but not ridiculous. They're also a few years old. They'll hold a straight line before fading hard. I've heard the more recent runs are more overstable than them, though. The S plastic ones start off more overstable but break in to hold a straight line for a bit. AFAIK, the S plastic ones are OOP.

FWIW, I throw them because I have them. If I were going to start over and buy new discs I'd probably go with Z Preds.
yea it's easier to go that route. Cheaper as well. I got rid of my comets because of the fuse.the fuse is longer, not as touchy and a little more low speed stable..still a good disc.
yea. Esp comets are in between the stability and durability of the z and x comets. If you find light weight esp's thell be closer to x in stability. If you find heavy ones they be a little closer to z stabilty but not exactly. They're nice but pricey to pursue. People love them but can be persueded to trade them away man. Nice discs.
fuses are faster so they can be a bit longer but also speed stable at the end of their flight. I found an ESP comet to be more true stable whereas a GL fuse is a bit overstable.
ESPs and TP comets are great but unless you have some or a good lead on some, I probably wouldn't spend the money on them. I've been rolling with an X and 2 Z comets lately (one beat up and one new) along with one or two rocs and it has been working great. If they ever come out with more ESP comets you should totally get some if possible though.
