The first discs that I could throw well, in the order that I first began to master them, were:
Archangel
Stingray
Leopard
Teebird
Sidewinder
But really, any low-speed, understable disc will be very forgiving for a beginner.
That said, I would stay away from the Kite. That disc confuses and...
The secret is, wind, wind, and more wind! Basically, throwing an overstable "fairway driver", at least for me, is to get it to hold a line in windy conditions where my normal midrange will get buffeted.
My Teebird works really well for this. If you find that you turn over the Teebird a lot...
The Goblin is by-far the worst disc I have ever thrown, as midrange or putter, but it seems like you could use it as a fairway driver if you lost all your Teebirds (lol). Any and all of the shots you would use it for, I've had much better luck with my Shark. Even ended up buying two Sharks...
I have a buddy who found an Orc and it flies like no other disc, not even any other Orc. I think they really have to get beaten-in before they perform their best.
Yeah, lots of people hate the Epic. But it's definitely one of those that works as intended, and is not something you can use everyday, or even once a month, for that matter.
3.50 star(s)
Awesome course with plenty of wide, open, long fairways on the 1st nine. Well-maintained with guide signs and concrete pads.
Wind (fall/spring). Mosquitoes (summer). Heavy woods and forest could foster ticks.
Although many people have complained about the wind here, I think it is attributable...
Exactly what I was going to say. Drop the highest and lowest. And if a course has only 1 or 2 people rating it, then average rating should say, "course has too few ratings to be considered accurate".
We have a 5-point rating system at work to review our team leader candidates, and I've seen...
I'm sure everyone has their opinions about what makes or doesn't make a course good. With that in mind (and not to prove one design better than another), what are some things that you look for when playing a new course? What features do you find exciting? For example, the things that I really...
The course is at Creek Ridge County Park, 7943 W. 400 N., Michigan City, IN.

I'm a "pop up" artist too, so I know exactly what that feels like...
There's two really strong reasons for "pop' up", and those are angle of release and posture. Dan Beato has a great video on Youtube that shows correct driving technique and addresses the problems that beginners have with...
I've always liked the little blurb from the Innova site:
"About the Aero
The Aero is our best disc for beginners and players using only one disc. It is the straightest point-to-point golf disc and the easiest disc to keep on the fairway for beginners. It is a slow flying control disc with a...
But seriously, even my own son walks in front of me while I'm trying to throw. I think the reason that so many kids are diagnosed with ADHD these days, is because they all really have it. They can't find their @$$es with both hands and a roadmap, and it just keeps getting worse.
My son...
