After watching and emulating Feldburg and Climo putting for years, I would say 20' in I got good 2 years ago. Before that I was just a streaky spin putter than could nail one at 50' then miss one at 15'. Now I make them all 20' in and occasionally make that 50' putt.
I played a round with a guy and his kid kept running ahead of us, and basically every shot we had to get the kids attention before throwing to keep him from running in front of us.
That said, last hole, I am lining up to putt, 50' or so away, I release my putt, and he darts towards the basket...
I learned the game in Mobile, AL, and I really couldn't throw for anything, 250, 260'. Really, I just liked the game, had fun walking the park. I kept noticing my drives were getting gradually longer and longer. At the one city course, I was finding I could reach all but 2 baskets in 2 throws...

I can only speak for myself, I prefer the Teebird because I want the least amount of movement in my fairway driver. I am certain I can be equally successful with the Eagle. I just like the stable high speed, and smaller low speed fade of the Teebird compared to the Eagle.
