DGPT: Nick Hyde

What happened to Eagle on hole 13. A 5 on a 222 ft. hole? Is there a lot of ob?

I know there is OB left and long of the pin normally. Maybe they made it some kind of island? Or maybe OB drive, and bad OB roll away on a missed putt.

Live now. Watch and enjoy.

A little bit of "fresh blood" on the lead card! I like it.

10 straight birdies for McBride on 1-10. Love watching him play (best upshot in DG in my opinion) and hope he can keep this up over the weekend for his first big win of the season.

Just got home from watching Eagle's round and am uploading video of holes 1-14 before my camera battery ran out. His 5 was an early tree hit, then an upshot that hit a low-hanging branch right in front of him, then he went for a long par putt and missed his comeback from about 25.

Here is his monster hyzer park job on hole 12 right before that 5.

Please Terry...get out from behind the camera and do the live commentary. That dude with the low voice had my sub woofer working over time. Just didn't seem like a good choice. Why didn't Terry do the live commentary btw? Why IS he behind the camera?

I think this McBride kid is another sign of the times that dominating will become ever more difficult with more great newcomers rising to the top, and with oldies goldies still hanging around.

Pete is a solid player and made some noise at the DGPT Final last year, so no surprise to see him come out hot yesterday.

BUT...it was just one round. Bit early to make declarations about newcomers rising to the top. Lots of tournaments feature hot opening rounds by "surprising" players (or hot final rounds like Conrad's two weeks ago), the question is whether they can sustain it for the whole weekend or will it be the same old familiar faces on Sunday afternoon?

To be clear, I'm rooting for new faces. I'm just not going to count on it until it happens.

Based on the weather forecast for Sunday, I'm guessing today's round will be played like it's the final round. Should be a good round to spectate.

Dude was creepy sounding and quite boring at the same time. I did not know if I should be scared or fall asleep

Yeah I know. Was taking last years into consideration. If it hadnt been for that, one round wonders do not register that much. Usually I am just like "oh, local dude caught fire for a little bit". The ratings are of course some indication to whether that was the case or not.

That ^. Bring Terry back, I could not stand the commentary from yesterday. Nothing personal, I just like Terry's style.

The difference is consistency. Peter isn't quite there yet, neither is Eagle. Even Nate Sexton has down moments. To win going forward, you're gonna have to have three very good rounds.
