I recently lost my Truth tooled Verdict...sniff sniff... but that thing was crazy overstable. I mean, not Justice OS, but way more overstability than I would expect from something so close in shape to the Truth.

I sould also add that the feel of the verdict is a bit shallow to me.

Totally get that. Mace feels really deep in comparison.
Really, you are asking too much out of a stable mid.
The roc was a great wind mid. (Mace now in bag instead of roc)
Technique flaws abound. I remember trying to get an XL to fly straight in a mild headwind. Backed by serious power.
Lets get back to the basics. You're getting hung up because you are already hung up period.
