Baskets all day, poles suck. I fully understand that the poles take that much more accuracy but its boring as hell to play a course that has poles compared to baskets. Plus that beautiful sound of sinking a shot in the chains is like no other.
Best advice is to go into a field and toss a putter back and forth with a few friends. Takes away the pressure of aiming at a basket and you get a feel for your putter. Not to mention it's just plain fun bombing putters.
I tee off with my putters quite a bit. Mostly on short holes and ones that are on a slope because they tend to not roll as much as a driver would. I also find that they are easier to control. I will also use a buzzz to tee off many times. My suggestion is to find a soccer field or any field and...

I tend to doodle on my discs just to make them more fun and colorful. It can also help when looking for a lost disc. They do tend to fade over time but the good thing about that is when they do you get the chance to draw something new on them.

If your in Canada you may as well come down to Minnesota. We have some very nice courses, I would suggest coming down in the summer. Some great places are East Bethel (Blue Ribbon Pines), Eden Prarie (Bryant Lake), and there are many more fun courses to play.
Has to be that I finally learned how to throw a good BH. Used to play pretty much all side arm and have GREATLY improved my game now that I can disc BH better. And I found my new best friend the Star Katana.
