Pros:
-Park is well kept
-Clear signage for those not using a tracking app
-Concrete tee pads
-Discatcher baskets with flags (most flags are falling apart)
-Very open "park golf" course ideal for beginners with a few trees in the way to limit a few drives
-Seasonal availability of port-a-johns, no water available
-Never had a problem with parking
-Water can be in play for the first 4 holes if the wind picks up or just a bad throw
-Last 3 holes have punishing OB on the left that require some serious adventuring
Cons:
-Tee pads are a little short
-Signs at the tees are in the worst location! If you throw RHBH, I live in fear of smashing my knuckle into them since they are on the front right corner of the tee pads
-Multiple parts of the course can be quite wet and swampy depending on recent weather
-Multiple use park can lead to some minor conflicts, but geese are your biggest obstacles
-Wind can be a limiting factor for enjoyment on this course
Other Thoughts:
This and Stubbs park are the 2 courses I use to introduce new players to the sport. For the most part, this is an extremely forgiving course ideal for building form and basic confidence. Advanced players likely will find the course painfully simple, but still fun to play with less experienced friends. This course will probably remain a cornerstone in the area for getting new players into the sport because of it's simple play and well kept grounds.
