Beginners course 2+ years

Pros:
(1.264 Rating) A great course for those with 0-2 years experience looking improve their game.
- GROW THE SPORT - No doubt will this course aid in growing the sport by offering students easy access to learn the game at a beginner friendly course, on school grounds.
- ACEABILITY - All of the holes are aceable to pros thru intermediate players. All holes are under 300 feet and for the most part, unguarded.
- FORGIVENESS - The odds of losing a disc due to an errant shot is very low with two exceptions. In the event that one misses bad on 8 or 9 to the right, and if the creek is high, and if it cuts threw 6 solid feet of dense foliage, then yes, it's possible.
- QUICK PLAY - A single could easily complete a full 12 in under 40 minutes. Groups of 4 probably would finish in about an hour and 15 minutes.
- MAINTENANCE - The grounds appear to be mowed weekly and were very clean despite a lack of garbage cans along the layout. I didn't notice any areas that had significant overgrowth other than along the creek.
- CHAINS - The baskets are in great shape. Unfortunately a typical comment when you run out of good things to say about a course.

Cons:
Not geared to seasoned players
- UNIQUENESS - The holes themselves in terms variety are well below average. All of the holes play between 195 and 300 feet, and are mostly straight with a spattering of trees. There are only two sweeping shots (#9 and #12) thankfully they turn in opposite directions. There are no dogleg holes and no par 4's or 5's. Also, although you'll see a bunch of water in both the pond and creek variety, it really doesn't come into play.
- ELEVATION - Sadly it's not really used. The course probably changes by no more than 10 feet on any one hole. There's a good opportunity to modify number 7's tee and place the tee on a 10-15 foot high mound. Currently 7's tee marker is in front of the mound.
- CHARACTER - Well below average. There is no tee shading or wind shielding, no seating, no map, no community board and no practice basket. There is however hole signage at all the tees and it offers an adequate artistic description of the hole and the hole's distance. There is also a table and shelter area nearby the last hole. I'll also note that 11's basket is tipped over, probably just temporary condition though.
- NAVIGATION - There is a mailbox at hole 1 tee. Normally I've seen maps or scorecards in these, but it was empty. It may be because of my winter round. Without a map you will get lost, most likely at hole 9 as its almost a 1,000 feet to the next tee. I had no issue with my downloaded DGCR map however.
- DIFFICULTY - Too short and not a challenge to advanced/pro level players. Advanced players should have no problem being well under course par. Intermediate and Recreational players may be delighted however as it can be a feel good round. It's a great opportunity for those players to finish below par.
- TEES AREA - The tees are grass and void of any permanent line markings for a tee edge. However, it is possible that they spray paint a line during part of the year, just nothing was observed by me during my winter round.
- OPEN HOURS - Due to the location of being on high school grounds, the course is unplayable for non-students during school hours.
- WIND - Due to the lack of trees, wind will likely be an issue.

Other Thoughts:
I will forever remember this course as it was the first time I ever played with snow on the ground. Very much playable in the snow and 20 degree temps. The course is perfect for rec and beginner players. Advanced and pro players will wish they went elsewhere.

Pros:
- Course is set on a large high school campus, with lots of space available for the DG. Could be possible interference from school activities, obviously, not sure when it would be a problem. Not sure how lenient they are on discing during school hours, either.
- Good amount of the shots use trees in some way. A blind hyzer and anhyzer are present, some obvious RHBH hyzers, and others that have a few different options. Basket is located in a thick grove of short trees on #4, which can be tricky. #11 has a very busy fairway as well.
- Decent mix of hole length for a beginner, ranging from the low to high 200's. Most players with any kind of experience will be able to reach all the baskets with no problems, in terms of distance at least.
- Some very slight elevation changes, the terrain is not 100% flat. Maybe 95%.
- Great tee signs, good baskets, natural tees are still just grass. Having a map of some sort is a plus, the walk from #9 to #10 is a doozy!

- A large amount of very, very open shots here. #5 through #8 have absolutely nothing in the fairway, and the shots around the forest have no trees in the fairway. These are brainless, and practice holes at best.
- Some features of the park were not only used, but avoided. A nice clump of trees is out of the way by #5's tee, #6 has a decent hill that is only in play on shanked shots, and you walk around a lake to get to #10, with no chance of going in. A shame to see some interesting terrain completely wasted.

Other Thoughts:
- Overall, a fun course that is absolutely perfect for beginners. Some trees to learn the basics of line shaping, open shots to work on accurate distance, and not much trouble to be found. For anyone with experience, a place to practice or try out some new discs.
