That guy stole my firebird.

Let's see... a guy joins the forum. Cries like a baby because someone stole his Firebird. Says he has a pic but won't post it or tell the police. He won't tell us what course he was at because he's "big on privacy".

What was the point of the OP? Was he looking for sympathy? Is he or she having hormone imbalances?

Post something like this on DGR and the ridicule would never end.

Somewhere in the known universe, three billy goats are traveling unimpeded over a bridge.

This is why I take a picture of my disc before every shot I take. Gotta make sure the po-diggies have a recent photo, ya know?

We had this happen once at Waterworks. Teed off on 16 and a car drove by a kid hoped out and grabbed my buddies disk. We yelled and they stopped and then started driving. I caught up to them and they reluctantly gave it back.

Just an FYI I think it may be illegal to post pic's of this punk. It sucks but he does have a right to privacy even if he is a thief. I know for a fact that it is illegal to publish photos or video of someone without writen consent. I think posting flyers at the course would be considered publishing. It would really suck to get in trouble trying to get your disc back.

It's not illegal, if you are in any public space you have no element of privacy and anyone can photo, video, and audio recorded at their discursion

Print up flyers including the pic with the DB's face blurred out ju-u-u-ust enough so he's unrecognizable to someone who doesn't know him. On the flyer, say "I'd like your permission to post this picture on the internet" or words to that effect. If he mans up and says yes, then go ahead and beat the cr@p out of him -- oops, I mean, "politely ask him to return your disc". If no response, you can say that you gave constructive notice and tried to get his permission - and then put that pic up EVERYwhere.

Anyone else keep thinking of the "***** stole my bike" meme when they read OP's title?

Also, one of the posters above me is correct. There is no invasion of privacy whenever one is in a public space; you can film them, and post such filmings, as much as you wish.

As an example, I've never been asked permission to have my stats/pictures/scores posted to local newspapers whenever I was a minor (or an adult) and was shot while playing a sport. Now, if they were to slander me in some way, that would be a violation and outside of the parameters of "Freedom of Press." However, if you're simply stating a fact, no crime has been committed.

I did fail to mention that you must only state the facts and nothing else. Thanks for chiming in on that detail.

It is petty theft, not much of a crime. If you compare petty theft to what can happen for an invasion of privacy it is chump change.

Hehe, yea, 30 days in jail and a $1,000 fine is no biggy.

EDIT: Make that 90 days

Okay here is my story, I was playing the other day at my local Dgc and I threw a disc right in the middle of the fairway, I bend down to pick my bag up and when I looked up and I saw some punk kid running across the fairway and grab my disc. Me not being able to run(with my bad leg) I whipped my phone out and took pictures of this kid. I am honestly thinking about calling the cops because I still have the reciept And the pictures of this punk. So should I call the cops and try to get my disc back? It was my favorite disc.

Chances are, that picture on your phone is from far away and worthless. I say you should ask some friends to hang out as "surveillance" next time, because this was most likely not just a one time deal, and the punk is probably selling his stolen collection online or otherwise. Set up a sting, and beat him with the hardest plastic in your bag. Now that's justice!:)

i say next time no whining on this forum...haha unless you plan on taking action like telling us which course.....i know the interwebs are scary and your privacy is important, but i just wasted 5 mins of my life reading through this thread thinking i was going to read a story about dg justice only to be let down.....:wall: i read about a guy on here who had a whole bag stolen....story went on he posted pics....got his sh*T back!!! now that's worth starting a thread over....sorry to seem like an a-hole just dissapointed...
