The Ask MJ & Comet Love Thread

MJ how are you liking the transition to putting with ringer gt's? I'm curious if you have ever dabbled into DGA's lineup at all?

If you liked putting with rhynos I figured you would be trying out the breakers?

Way to play in HOFC! You were throwing so great in round 2 that it felt like you should have done even better. I haven't even seen the coverage of round 3, but the score card says you shot closer to potential!

Nice job MJ! Love seeing someone carve up the woods like you do. What's that flippy/straight driver he is using on some of his drives. I think it was a pinkish esp disc. Maybe a crank or sting?

MJ,

What did you think of the changes to Jackson, what was your favorite/least favorite new holes? Congrats on 3rd place!

MJ,

Have you ever had an injury that's kept you from throwing? Do you think your driving form is lower impact than the typical pro? Who were the teachers and players you watched that influenced your form? If you were starting over today, would you try to change anything about your form/game or keep it the same?

Think the one you are talking about is one of the new esp cranks

It's been a bit of work to get all the way used to them, but overall it's been a really good swap for me . Never messed with the breakers cause they were only in premium plastic and I only putt with ringers and don't throw them

Good call. I feel like the ringer really compliments your anny spin putt style. You can always rely on those to come back towards the basket.

I recently tried out a Z-FLX ringer gt, and holy beefcakes! It's basically a faster, more stable champ rhyno. Almost in Zone territory but not quite. Excellent thrower for backhands and sidearm approaches.

Mj,
I bought an esp Proto comet last week and holy moly is this thing money. It has 9/25 on the back. I think it's a Proto for your signature esp swirl ones. Best flying comet I've thrown no doubt. How do these protos compare to the normal run signature esp's?

MJ, if you were to bag an overstable complement to the Comet, what would you go with? Wasp? Hornet? How do they compare for you? Is there any particular reason you're not bagging one?

MJ, I was playing with Mitch Dickens and Paul Strickland today and they said that I greatly reminded them of you, in voice and manner. Like, it was driving them crazy who I reminded them of.

You're probably gonna want to kick their asses now. :|

Well, I had no putter I liked when I switched to discraft in 08, since I came from being a rhyno putter before. The zone was their first attempt at making me a low profile, stable putter

I had no idea.
Thanks to WMD (sounds ominous, doesn't it?), who brought it up in another thread.
Oh yeah, thanks to you as well, MJ!!
Glad they kept going and came up with the Ringer.

PS: LOVE those ESP Swirl GLO Comets!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
As you've said, the most stable Comets out there.

Mostly don't bag one because I rarely use an over stable mid for anything and hate carrying discs that I will use once every 20 rounds or so. Used to use a hornet a decent amount but just not enough to warrant keeping in my bag all the time

Thanks for joining us at our low-payout charity event, and your team's generosity.

And congratulations to you guys for tearing it up that final round.

Just glad I was finally able to make it back down to stoney hill, bee way to long since I was last there. Did really enjoy the format you put together for this event. Made for lots of fun and good times with the variety of play
