I have been putting with Magnets for as long as I've been playing disc golf, and I've never really had a good feel with them, but I stuck with it since they are pretty much all I have ever known. I tried the challenger for a while, but didn't like it, and did a stint with the Aviar, but that wasn't working either. I think what I need is something that is just as straight as a magnet, but has a lower profile. Maybe a wizard or a DD judge? Any and all suggestions are welcome!

The Wizard and Judge will not be straighter than a Magnet until they beat in for a long time. I would say an XD might be a nice place to start. The Legacy Clutch is their version of a "better" Magnet since Steve Rico was a Magnet junkie and needed a new putter. It's a little shallower so that might be another option.

Voodoo has no bead so it feels shorter and it's straighter than a wizard. Mj likes low profile putters what does he use again?

Voodoos have a small bead like a Challenger but have more glide than Wizards. MJ uses Ringers which are low profile but more overstable than Magnets.

Straight putting or straight driving? Depends how you putt. But, APX and thank me later.
Yeah, pretty important question there. But I wouldn't consider the APX much lower profile than a Magnet though.

My personal, biased vote goes to the Summit. The Pure, XD, and Magic suggestions are really good ones too.

he uses Ringers ... not really a neutral putter unless you beat it up a little ... insanely low profile

buddy of mine used Pures for a while and they felt REALLLLL nice in the hand

No one can suggest the "right" putter for you. The best suggestion would be to get to a store with great selection and start feeling 'em up!

Personally, I love the feel of MVP discs in my hand. Went to a store to check out some different putters, and the Ion just feels right in my hand. Now when I pick up the Aviars that I used to use, I can't understand how they were my main putters for so long.

Pure's are what you are looking for. A much smaller profile in the hand than a magnet though. But a similar flight. Get a Zeroline Pure, try it out for a week, and thank all those that suggested it. End of thread.:hfive:

Go with anything Gateway, because of their 'misprint' deals. You can call them or e-mail them, ask them exactly what you're looking for.. color, weight, mold, feel, and they'll send you their 'misprints' for $8 a piece in their package deals. Trust me, this is the way to go. Latitude, Innova, MVP, Discraft are all good.. but putters are the one disc that you need multiples of for practice, and you can't get cheap package deals from anyone but gateway.

Trust me dude, I don't even throw Gateway, but advise everyone that asks to go with Gateway putters because you can get them so cheap. Every company has good discs, but with putters it's important to have at least 3-10 of the exact same disc in the weight/color/mold/feel you want.. And gateway is the only company that you can call/email and get a package deal like that.. Do it.
