Hardest hole you have played

Hole 8 on Highbridge Gold is a 1335' Par 6 but not particularly hard, just long. It has been eagled with a 4 before.

There are trees hanging in from the right side, so you have throw a slight anhyzer route. And there is some sort of island with a broken down tree - so you have to keep it high enough. The fence in the back of the basket can stop you though...
Some people say that there is no ob on the right side, but going there won't give you a chance at a 3 - too many trees. Green is sloped to the lake and max 10m wide.
My friend who easily has the length to cross the lake drowned at least 10 discs in there. No chance to get them back, the bottom is very muddy and full of glass :(

OK, all this talk of Idlewild made me want to go out there & play it today. But I'm a wimp, and played Idle Mild (short 24 & casual OB). Took fives on 5, 6, 15 & 18, so for me, they all tie. I'm OK with 5's on those holes at my rating.

btw, I was pleased to get a four on hole 10 (a rarity for me).

Roane County Hole 13. 420 feet.

This hole is heavily wooded and the terrain slopes from left to right for the entire length of the hole. To make matters worse, Watts Bar Lake borders the entire hole on the downhill side of the slop.

From the tee you're faced with a straight line across a ravine that will require a 250' shot through trees to clear. Once across the ravine you'll find a sidewalk on your left that is OB.

If your tee shot lands clean on the basket side of the ravine you will now have a tough approach. OB sidewalk on left, OB lake on right and water 15 foot behind the basket.

Very tough hole in my opinion.

Currently down at AM Worlds Doubles playing Selah Ranch and the Trey Texas Ranch courses all for the first time. Hard to pick any one hole as being the most difficult but certainly a handful are among the hardest I've played.

Hardest that I can remember? Probably #9 at Blue Valley in Kansas City.

Double dogleg left (big wide U shape). Played as-

-350 feet across a valley.
-Turn hard right.
-300 feet through a tunnel.
-Turn hard right.
-350 feet down a tunnel.

I doubt anyone here has heard of it, but Hole #10 @ Lake Nacogdoches is the hardest hole in the area. Uphill dogleg right. Mando doesn't allow you to hyzerbomb up there. You need a solid drive uphill (about 40 feet in elevation change) AND have it land ON the fairway. Then you have about 80 feet for a laserbeam approach/putt with a narrow fairway of about 8ft long the rest of the way. Played with a group of 7 today and none got better than a 5.

im going on thursday. hope to play the longs and all 24. would like to shoot a 90 which is 10 better than my average.:clap:

Hole 17 at Iron Hill. Almost impossible to not hit a tree.

I'm surprised Iron Hill wasn't mentioned before this. Iron Hill is such a tough course. If it was still considered a par 5 like it was in the past that hole would probably easily be considered one of the hardest holes out there. Now that it it's a par 6 it cuts down on the difficulty. That extra stroke does wonders.

Good choice. It's a great and challenging hole on a very underrated course. Let me know if you find my blue Sidewinder in the water on #1.

This was my first thought. Although, If I could remember Camden II better, which I've only played once, I might be able to name one of the holes there.

The ones I hate are:

Idlewild #6 and #18
Warwick old #9, now #8(?) plays in a horseshoe shape
Paw Paw #3 or 4 (uphill and sloping towards OB)
beginning to hate Stafford Woods #11

btw, Iron Hill #17 isn't that hard, I have 5'd it twice. must of been from the short tee :)

For me as a lefty it is Hawk Hollow hole 15, par 4.

OB fencing runs the lenght of the drive on the left, and the fairways plays high to low Left to right, with a specific drive landing zone about 350ft out to run an approach at the basket to try for a 3, with OB creek at the bottom of the hill running along the right as you approach the basket.

So if my LHBH drive fades out right, i have to recover to the gap, but not hyzer too much or i'll end in the water. Same with the third shot. And then navigate some trees to putt out.

I have 3'd the hole once. 4'd the hole 2 or 3 times, and had 5+ more times than i can count.

Lindrith, New Mexico on the Galloway Brothers' course. I don't remember the hole number, but it's the first one after climbing out of the canyon (maybe #14?). Very long, and when the wind is kicking it's almost impossible to find a suitable landing area to set up your second shot. Without wind and tourney pressure it's a tough one, then throw in competition conditions and it will test your mental fortitude. It'll make you want to chew rocks and spit out bad words.

16. Played it last Saturday in the wind and snow. Don't turn over your drive or you have a 500ft hike down to find it. Better off just reteeing!

Ive taken a three before. Got a drop in 5 last weekend.

I'm sure there are plenty at Idlewild, but I was a noob when I played it and most of the holes there kicked my butt.

#12@ Albion...1100 feet with no landing area beyond about 350', and an OB road crossing fairway at about 300'. Pond to carry. Not bad once over pond, but tough to get over...don't have any idea how anyone could "3" that hole.

#14 Meyer Broadway original course, 640'. Uphill drive to landing area...then dogleg left and uphill again to basket. Pretty easy to make 4, almost impossible for someone who maxes out at 320' to make 3.

Long 10 @ Stumpy Creek. Steep uphill to LZ, then double dogleg from there, with scattered trees throughout the pretty narrow fairway. Even with decent tee shot, I've never had a 'good' look at a second shot.

+1 for 5-Nevin.

15-Hornet's Nest. This one's maybe more of a personal nemesis. It just doesn't suit my eye well. Par 3, 320, slight up- to downhill. The ridge you go over mid-fairway is a gap about 10'. Hitting that gap alone is tough for me, but the slight uphill to the gap can make the rest of the shot squirrelly. After the gap there's some room to the right to work a shot, but if you don't get the movement back left to the basket, there's OB. Missing the gap, or leaving the fairway anywhere, especially left, makes par really tough. I've birdied it once, had to make about a 35 footer through the V in 'that tree' short of the green. Made plenty of 5s.

I deuced 15 at Hornet's Nest on Sunday. Buzzz up the gut, hit a 30' straddle for the 2.

Dang. I saw the thread title and Blue Valley #9 instantly popped in my head. This pretty much sums it the hole up, save for severity of the elevation changes.

It's tough to walk, much less play.

Oh, and the last shot is blind downhill to the pin which is on a downslope, behind some trees or both, with a steep falloff to a runoff stream behind. Just what you need for a pick me up at the end of that epicness.
