32nd Annual Kansas City Wide Open - June 20-22

Great coverage of Round 2. That course looked pretty tough, especially for a lefty. Final 9 is starting soon. I cant wait to see the coverage of round 3! mc beth is a freak

Yeah! Also enjoyed Cale keeping it real, dude had a great attitude the whole round.

I notice Cale waves after his putts and there's not always people watching, an interesting part of his game , but he definitely seems to keep his temper in check and is a solid player.

He was a breath of fresh air cuz philo and dave were both kind of in crybaby mode today, mostly dave.

Assume you are talking about McFly So High 2nd round on youtube. Just watched it... Philo was a little frustrated at himself, but kept it focused on himself. On the other hand Dave crossed the line into really poor sportsmanship IMO, when he was whining to his cardmates that none of them called footfault on him after he botched his shot. Seriously? :gross:

But you used to be able to call the foot fault on yourself. Now, you have to rely on other touring pros to call you on one.

Dave mentioned its importance when he was a guest announcer for the final 9 of the Japan Open I think. He's a weird guy.

And they used to until they figured out the ruse. Had a pro miss a parked bird putt from less than five feet when he nonchalantly tried to drop it in, he then proceeded to step past his marker in an attempt to get us to call it. We three all looked at each other and didn't say a word. Guy starts yelling at us for not following the rules and calling his foot fault. This was at Fort Steilicoom Open in 2013 pretty sure that player is still pissed.

... and not saying they're not calling on purpose but: if he's missing, why call him on it? "oh yeah, wasn't looking at your foot ... sorry"

I just can't bring myself to be a dick about a foot fault. Sure, if it's more than a step and obvious I'll likely throw a warning, but a few toes or so...go for it.

If it wasn't intentional, then it shouldn't matter whether he makes it or misses it, they should be calling it regardless of the outcome.

Though if it was something intentional, where he followed through past his lie specifically because he missed and was looking for a re-throw, I don't disagree with the other player's decision to not make the call. I'd go so far as to call it cheating on the thrower's part. In fact, that would be my response to the player were he to whine and cry about not getting called. It's at the least an unsportsmanlike act to intentionally break a rule for an advantage. It's disc golf's equivalent of flopping, sometimes literally.

I personally hate the fact that they've done away with the self-call, and it's because of actions like this that they did so. To me, the more appropriate rule change to counter this behavior would have been to simply do away with the warning. If you fault, it's a penalty and re-throw, period. No freebies, no benefit of the doubt.

I haven't watched round 2 but it's cool McFlySoHigh was filming. Round one was a complete bore to watch but that's no fault to him. George Smith is good I just wasn't really entertained by that group for some reason. Devan didn't play bad for being injured with a new bag of discs. Cale doing the wave thing is like Devan and his hat thing. He takes it off and tilts it to the side after he throws. Same way. It's odd.

This isn't funny until you watch the video. That's so perfect lol. I noticed the hat comes off when he started to get really frustrated and a few holes later he's Big Ern. :hfive:

Haha , one of my favorite scenes from any movie is Big Ern's meltdown . I aspire to grow my hair like that one day
