[Discraft] Buzzz OS

Well, I went to the Pro Worlds Fly Mart last night and Discraft was there with stacks of Buzzz OS's. They had all sorts of awesome stamps on them too: Big Z Buzzz style stamps, flag stamps, bar stamps, little bees, x-outs with double stamps on top of each other, lots of cool looking foils. I'm just sad I only bought 3 (and I already sold 2 of them).

I should have asked about the Infinite orders, but didn't really think about it at the time. Dion Arlen was manning the booth, and he probably wouldn't have known anyway. Oh well.

Here are pics of the 3 I bought at the Fly Mart. I believe all 3 were actually protos because they didn't have any tooling:

Hey folks, Kirk here from Infinite to clear the air, dispel the rumors. I was told to hop over here as there was some speculation.

Discraft said this to me regarding why we didn't have them: "I just heard back from the plant. The first order was help because of the lower weights on the order and that you mark do not sub weights. They were waiting for lighter weights on this order. Unfortunitly, they are not getting any light weights. I asked to to bump up the weights and ship the order or asap."

I would have thought that the plant would have treated weight requests differently with a pre-order, and should have contacted us saying "We will not have the light weights that were on our order form." But rather they said "Do not ask about the status of orders."

So we feel the pain along with many of your with the frustration on the pre-order. We've definitely made some noise in the last few days with Discraft, and we can only hope that they don't have a third strike.

Also, in regards to the comment above from KG505. He was one of the luck 50% that received his order from us. The discs we were able to send were from our second order from Discraft. Which is ironic, because they said "orders are sent in the order they are received."

If anybody would like to request a refund, I understand and we can honor those wishes. Hopefully Discraft overnights our first order. We do have a 3rd order which is set to arrive on Monday.

Classy move by ID. Well done.

Threw the buzzz os a bit today ,its better than i anticipated ,Not overly os but still reliable to handle some power behind it. I really wanted to test it into some good headwind but it just wasnt that windy today. I also took my gator out just so i could see if it would fly anything close to the gator. Good thing is,it didnt..the gator is just pure beef and doesnt go as far,the buzzz os still cruises further but has a reliable fade and hss. Some more testing to be had but it lools like a winner.

To me..it feels and looks like a drone bott with a buzzz top. Holding it next to my buddies drones,he felt the same. Either way,it feels good.

Haha, sorry it's already sold now (all 3 are). I'm hoping that Discraft might set their booth up at the Pro Worlds finals on Saturday. If they do, I'll probably buy a few more cool looking Buzzz OS's. I should have bought more the first time, but oh well.

In terms of whether the regular first runs have tooling, a guy who has some Discraft sponsored friends asked me if mine had tooling and I said they didn't. Then he said that the protos he had felt all had this really tiny nick on the inside of the rim that Discraft was planning on removing for the regular runs. So I felt the inside of the rims on mine and sure enough there was a tiny drop-out that you couldn't even hardly see, but you could feel it if you felt all the way around the inside of the rim. Thus I determined that mine must be protos, although I haven't yet handled a FR (have some on order from Infinite), so I can't be positive on whether they removed the nick or added tooling to the FR's.

First impressions, what would you say it compares to flightwise for hss and distance? Wasp, Pain, Verdict, Warship, MD2, Aftershock, Other? Does it feel like a Drone in the hand or does it feel good?

Here's my orange Z Buzzz OS with my Pink Z Drone.

umm if you do let me know and well work something out. :D

ive noticed that several of the newer discraft molds do not have tooling on the rim any more and some dont even have it on the underside of the flightplate. which i like!

@booter
it definitely is a Drone SS/Buzzz OS. flies alot like my seasoned FLX Drone, so it will be nice once i get this thing seasoned some. it should fit perfectly inbetween the FLX Drone and straight Buzzz.

well after a couple rounds with it, I am a big big fan of the OS. Got an orange max weight (from discgolfcenter, took about 4 days :)) and it slots perfectly between my sentinels and buzzzes. It is nice and stable at speed with a predictable and strong late fade. already has a couple good dings on it from metal hits on the first round, bye bye seasoned sentinels and wasp, hello confidence-inspiring CryzBuzzz|BuzzzOS|BrinsterSentinel mid lineup.

Id say its close to a verdict speed wise and in stability, the verdict will skip more,i really didnt get any skips longer than 10' with this one though, which is good for me. If you have ever thrown the old pearly z wasps from a long time ago, these have similar stability, nice and hss,no turn, but still straight flying with a healthy lsf. Pain is slower and doesnt have as much hss or lss. Warship is closer to a regular buzzz ,same goes for the md2. Both have more hst than any true os mids. Aftershock is like a pain but a little faster, its been a long time since ive thrown one. It does remind me of my old sanny qsentinels ,flight wise.

The drone has a higher shoulder and is deeper than the buzzz os so with that flat buzzz top amd that drone-ish wing,it feels better to me and closer to the buzzz feel. Ive tried to like the drone over the years but never liked the depth, this is a great substitute for me since i love my buzzzs and prefer flat mids. Its not as os as a gator is but if you season up a gator,it could probably be compared to in stability, buzzz os is still faster and has more distance potential though.

I like it a lot but i cant wait to use it more on a diff course or field.

I think I'm sold. I've been looking for a Pain replacement with more hss but not a big dumping fade. Going to order one of these and a Verdict. Buzz OS will be the third Discraft disc I've bought in 10 years...so I guess that's says something.

How do they feel?
Are they like a Hornet, where you tell its a Z/ESP blend?
Have we heard any more rumors about other possible plastics?
Z is not my fav.
