2015 Memorial Championship- NT

Thats kind of what I figured. Hopefully I'll get lucky and get there early enough to start before those practicing for the tournament. The first round is on Thursday, correct?

Sunrise is ~7:15. If you're going to play on Tuesday I'd be on the 1st tee ready to go before 8.

7:15 Sunrise. Hmm. Well I guess I will be at one of the courses shortly thereafter on Monday morning. Can't help Sunday as I fly in that morning.

I played the tournament layout at Fiesta last night. It needs some serious changes. There are two teepads that have things that will easily break a hand/arm in the way. One is a metal fence post, the other is two trees in the front of a super short sandy teepad. The one with the trees plays across a driving range with people hitting golf balls at you. :wall:

Be careful out there folks. Granted, there are a few holes that are pretty sweet.

Hopefully it will be changed before the tournament starts. That sounds horrible without even seeing it. Is that the same course you mentioned people being idiots on previously?

Public Service Announcement: If you plan on practicing at Fountain Hills this weekend, be advised that there is something called the "Great Fair" on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 10:00am until 5:00pm. I played there last Saturday during this same fair and the last four holes were basically unplayable due to the immense amount of foot traffic. Parking was also an issue. I'd recommend parking over by the old hole #4 (hole #5 for the Memorial). Best advice is to practice early in the morning and it may be prudent to start on hole #15 so you can get those last four holes in first.

I would avoid it altogether. The Great Fair is Fountain Hills' biggest event of the year. The park/course will be completely overrun by tourists.

That's the one

is that padding to protect the tree, or hopefully save you from a shattered hand?

Hands and arms. I didn't even play the hole. I saw the teepad, and immediately thought of broken limbs/digits, and decided it wasn't worth the risk. The teepad is so small there isn't enough room to just scoot back. You basically have to stand-and-deliver on a 400' hole.

I play with no run up, and I would STILL be hesitant to play the hole.
