I have seen two of these molds, but what is a Firebird3? Do you have some secret info on a yet to be released disc? I kid, but seriously, this would be a great seller and addition to Innova's lineup. The only thing, the CFR flat topped Firebirds that are coming out now probably would lose their mystique if a generally flat production model was released.Take a look at the 3 molds, TB3, Leo3, Firebird3.
Although I have a buddy with a Flick that has some dome to it, the flattest disc I have ever seen was a Flick. In my mind the flattest disc anyone could ever hold in their hands is the Z Flick, discraft's massively overstable distance OH and skip monster. If others do not suggest it....it is because they have never held it.

As I wrote, the flatness itself does not define stability. The wing height on the other hand does play a big role.Flatness has really nothing to do with designed mold stability. Nor does it make a disc more OS vs US in general.
All molds can be flat or domey and impacts flight differently given the mold. Some with dome will actually become more OS while others that get dome will fly more US. Same with flat or concave.
I've noticed that most of the GStar discs are closer to flat while lots of Pro or Star variations can be pop topped. Take a look at the 3 molds, TB3, Leo3, Firebird3.
Can someone make a short-list of board flat discs that are understable?

This is basically the whole point of my questions. Like the leopard 3 is pretty flat, but I'm curious about more 9 speed plus drivers. MVP is a good suggestion. Stuff designed flat for the overmolds.
Some Star Valkyries come out very flat, so you can look for them at the stores.

Mvp is the exception here, they have os and us flat discs. They have flatTee discs in general. And if you like that, that's a great option.Insanity
Inertia
Inspire
Switch
Relay
Looking at my Theory, just a little dome, but I would call it flat.
Nuke SS
Short enough for ya?

I think it's allot easier to name very OS discs that are flat vs. US ones. I.e. Faf firebird, flick, felon, harp, justice, zone and so on.Innova Wolf is pretty flat and understable. It's a terrible disc tho, it doesn't have any glide so you have to power it up to make it fly, but its so understable that it will turn and burn if you throw it with any oomph.
This is so true. The "speed band" concept is a new one to me, but I can fully relate to it.You don't want flat higher speed (over speed 7) understable discs anyways. I find them to be less predictable and more prone to turning and burning or not turning at all. They don't have a consistent flight in that the speed "band" at which they turn is narrower and also overturn or fade out. The dome somehow creates some function to stabilize the flight and make it more forgiving and a wider band. You also lose glide on the flat higher speed discs which could be part of the problem with the unforgiving and more erratic flight.
